Re: [REQ] Pojken i grannhuset (TV Series 2025)

Here's the Finnish description translated from Yle Areena:

When journalist Linnéa Krook sees her childhood first love Anton on television, old questions return to her mind. Why was Anton suddenly sent away from home 20 years ago? Linnéa begins to dig into the past and encounters a taboo that no ...

Re: [REL] Stein (1991)

Glad to hear my input is appreciated! If there are any other specific scenes or lines where you're unsure about the translation, I'd be happy to help, but atm I unfortunately don't have the time to go over the entire movie...

Re: [REL] Stein (1991)

The general meaning is the same, but I was calling it a mistranslation because proud in German is stolz, which might sound slightly similar to staunste, but is still a totally different word.

The main difference is that "standing proud" is not commonly used in German as an innuendo, or at least I ...

Re: [REL] Stein (1991)

I wonder if him saying "proud, right?" At the beginning of the scene, was aimed down there too ;) as sometimes it can be referred to as "standing proud" ;)

As a German speaker, it sounds like this line was translated wrong. I think he says "[Da] staunste, was?" which roughly translates to ...

Re: Anna's Archive (ebooks)

I think he's saying that we don't need e-books anymore, because we can just use AI to write whatever we want.

Re: Anna's Archive (ebooks)

Eh, in my opinion AI really doesn't hold up in long-format storytelling yet. It feels really linear, unimaginative, and has no concept of subtext.

Anna's Archive (ebooks)

It has come to my attention that a lot of people on this forum don't know of Anna's Archive. It's a free and open library for e-books, in fact it's the largest one there is. If it exists as an e-book, there's about a 99% chance that they have it, and probably even in multiple languages!

While this ...

Glad to be of help! The site really is the best there is for ebooks. If it exists as an ebook, there's a 99% chance they have it!
But beware, they do occasionally have corrupt and/or bad files, as you already found out.

I also found one called Titta, Madicken, det snöar! (Look, Madicken, it's snowing!), another picture book with a bit of text:
