Re: Understanding the mule

First, I’d like to thank everyone for their long and detailed instructions. I think my basic problem is the router (it’s not even listed in Phuzzy’s Simple Port Forwarding, which is too bad because it is a very easy, very detailed program) so I’ll just try again some time this month when I’ll have a ...

Re: Understanding the mule

Hello again,

Thanks for the interest; I do know some things more now:

4. Do you have a Low or Hi ID?

Definitely very, very low

If you tell us the make & model of the router we may be able to help........

It is Sagem Fast 1500WG (and looks rather crappy, if you ask me)

A very good free ...

Re: Understanding the mule

Hello again everyone,

I've been trying to fix that router (which I doubt is a decent one) but the task is invariably aggravating. I simply lack the knowledge to proceed, so I am only making things worse (the arrows are now red). I downloaded the suggested program which I'm sure is much simpler but ...

Re: Understanding the mule

Thanks for the umpteenth time, still working on it...

Connectivity is the crucial thing......make sure the globe with arrows in the bottom RH corner is all green.......a yellow or worse still, red arrow indicates a firewall/router problem that needs correcting.

In my case, the arrow is yellow ...

Re: Understanding the mule

Done and done, thanks!

Kad was already connected, and so were 5 servers. Still no sign of a download, though it all vaguely starts to make some distant sense.

Re: Understanding the mule

Thanks!

I did change my username to berg-man [FLM] as suggested... so now there's no file downloading anymore, instead I see (under "Transfers") "known clients (5)" including loverboy.

I will look into it a bit more. I don't really mind if it's slow, as long as I have it right and do things ...

Re: Understanding the mule

Yes, the assumption is correct; it is Hideaways.

I don't recall being asked for a username while installing emule, so I'm not sure how to change it. I do not wish to bother you with every single detail though, so I'll try to orientate a bit myself and see if I can do right and change username ...

Re: Understanding the mule

Hello,

Thanks for the reply; I will try to answer what I know:

1. What system are you on? PC?

Yes, PC

2. How many downloads are going on, just one?

With emule, just one. But I am also downloading some rapidshare files.

3. Do you have port forwarding on your router?

I think not

4. Do you ...

Understanding the mule

Hello,

I would just like to ask the average speed of a download in emule; I don’t have problem waiting, but I’d like to be sure I don’t do anything wrong. Since the last 15 hours, I have managed to download 2MB so, according to my calculations, with this pace my download (1.4GB) will take about 14 ...

Re: [REL] From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweil

Thanks for the prompt reply!

To be honest, I didn't notice the little mule on the left of the link - I remember I tried some years ago that software but found it too complicated... so I'll just download emule again and try the link (already have limewire, hope it won't be a problem).

I can ...
