[REL] La consolation (2017)
Maybe too old for somebody, but the "concentration" of the semi-interesting scenes is very high. Shame that it isn't in (full) HD...

Re: [REL] La consolation (2017)
Just a little news for this title for all which like infos :lol
It's from a Novel of Flavie Flament a real model of David Hamilton. In the book she's confessed the abuse of DH when she was 13yo. Flavie young was intrepreted by Lou Gable and she was 15 during the movie but she looks like more younger.

"Semi-interesting" being the operative phrase here.
Possible upgrade - DVB rip TV5monde. Not great, but maybe ghost can do something with it. Contains Russian, English, French, German and Dutch subtitles. 1:28:42

Multiple SPOILERS follow, but only one is protected.
OH - MY - GOD!
The big tabloid-scandal revelation is that she
when she was 13, and this is supposedly the big breakthrough in her therapy that reveals the source of her panic attacks.
What a colossal pile of bullshit. The elephant in the room is the celebrity whore mother, a truly monstrous, manipulative and relentlessly emotionally abusive piece of human garbage who needs a good baseball bat beating. If her poor daughter ended up messed in the head, it is primarily thanks to the years of mind control by dear Mom rather than a bad week with the skeezy photographer.
Mind you, I am not letting him off the hook: I am not surprised that D.H. was quite likely a scumbag. However, the movie manages to be honest in spite of itself -- it spends over an hour of runtime with her months-long therapy detailing how terrible her mother was before she finally remembers one sordid unpleasant squirt. If you could not even remember it, how important can it be? I am very, very skeptical of the value and reliability of "repressed memory." She seems desperate to avoid facing the reality of who is responsible: mother. But hey, Mom is not wealthy and the photographer is, so he must take all the blame!
Even more appalling is this biograhical tidbit on the real-life Flavie, from Wikipedia: "Her mother worked for the state's children-protection agency, Aide sociale à l'enfance (ASE)." If she was anything like the fictionalized-for-the-TV-movie-Mom, children need to be protected from her.
Thank you for sharing this film! I found it very well done and consistently engaging - and horrifying. Léa Drucker is a standout as the villainous mother. I really wanted to kill her, which is a credit to her convincing performance!
