Thanks jkecal, this was a fun show from a West Germany TV series. The spunky little "girl" sure showed the romeo who was smarter!
Re: [REL] Hals ueber Kopf (1987) (TV) Short
This is a crazy series where in each episode a different kid (mostly a cute girl) is lost and found thanks to a policeman and a detective couple. The series is filmed in former West Berlin; for some people it might be interesting to see how the place looked like 20-30 years ago
Here's one more episode for now. Going to a family vacation in Cacaracca (wherever that place is supposed to be) isn't that easy...

Out of curiosity, yoko...
Do you happen to have any more episodes of this cute series??
If they follow suit to these two that have been posted, they would be well worth adding to any FLM'ers library...
kev.

I have the DVD set with all 34 episodes, will post more later.

Any reupload possible?
Re: [REL] Hals ueber Kopf (1987) (TV) Short
I thought for sure that I would find this whole series streaming but I did not. The dvd set is readily available.
Episode 2 "Das Lehmkind" from the first post is available for direct download,
with choice of Russian dub or original German audio:
This has rather low video quality.
English subtitles resynced for this version from the first post: Like this post to see ed2k links [221.96 Mb]

Plot: Crazy mother kidnaps a mud-covered young boy when she mistakes him for her daughter because he is wearing a similar hat. She notices her mistake when she showers him off. She then proceeds to verbally abuse him, repeatedly threaten him with violence while he is trapped naked in her apartment, and humiliate him by forcing him to wear her daughter's flowery dress in public, so he can spend the day being abused by her scumbag boyfriend. Eventually she decides to return him to where she found him and retrieve her daughter, who obviously by now also needs a shower (but no).
This was considered a "children's comedy" in the 80's.
What I loved about it was this (unwitting?) reference to one of my all-time favorite music groups:

I thought I knew the story behind "collapsing new buildings" but did not realize there were actually public signs warning of such. It shames me that my immediate response was to echo the oblivious fellow-American response to the problems of end-of-Cold-War Berlin: "Just tear it down!" Sorry guys. My apologies. This should teach me why the 80's comedies were so rough.
Episode 14 "Cacaracca" is pictured extensively in yoko's post. I found another version in an emule search. I have downloaded it and verified it as good.

Re: [REL] Hals ueber Kopf (1987) (TV) Short
Hey! Thank you to any and all who resurrected and reshared the vintage files. I have them now and am also sharing them. The English subtitle file for "Das Lehmkind" I have resynced for my alternate version and added to my first post.
Now that I have seen both episodes, with subtitles for one, I think I have a better understanding and appreciation for this show. The imbecilic and oblivious parents have misplaced priorities, but the plucky children survive in spite of it. This is the stuff not just of comedy but also social realism!
After some decades it has finally occurred to me that the English expression "head over heels" (the supposed translation of this show's name) makes no sense, as that describes a person's ORDINARY state of being: the head is normally above the heels, duh. The German expression "hals über kopf" makes so much more sense: "neck over head". That describes accurately a situation when things are not in the proper order. I guess I expect too much of my own language -- it can not be as logical.

The alternate version of "Cacaracca" I posted previously I have now finished downloading, and I have edited the previous posts to reflect that it is VERIFIED. The video quality is similar to the first version, perhaps a little better. I am currently sharing both.
