Carmela is a young woman, beautiful and indomitable like an Amazon, who gets by with precarious jobs and vain ambitions, until she happens, on behalf of a lawyer, to do business with illegal immigrants. She was the infrequent mother of an 11-year-old girl, Maria, but now she wants to make up for it, assume her own responsibilities and experience her motherhood.
