The only reason this film exists is to showcase it's star, the 11/12 year old girl who plays Teresa. There's no doubt about it, she's a real charmer. Very radiant, charismatic and precociously feminine.

Teresa's cute, there's no doubt about it, but not cute enough to warrant a 103 minute movie about her. Frankly, I got tired of her cute little light brown sassy cherub's face after about 15 minutes.

The rest of the movie is inoffensive enough. Like the rambling of a sweet and gentle aged relative whose lost most of their mental rigidity, this movie sort of effortlessly flowed over me. But at the end, I felt I would have more productively and more enjoyably spent the time taking a nap.

There is no dramatic tension in this film. It's not even episodic. It's only barely an unpolished documentary of a day in the life of a tiny fishing village, with the added bonus of a cute little nymphet pouting and prancing through it every other scene.

A slice of life on an Italian island where the main occupation is fishing. The sea is their provider but it's also a taker of lives. Both 10-year-old Veronica Guarrasi and 13-year-old Ilary De Ioannon, like the rest of the young cast, were basically just local kids with no prior acting experience. I'm a bit surprised we haven't seen Veronica again. She seemed to have a knack for it, but sadly this was the only film for either of them.

English subtitles are turned on by default, but as usual not hard coded. You can turn them off whenever they get in the way.
