Russian title:
волчок
AKA: Wolfy
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1446206/
Synopsis:
There are two of them: a mother and a girl. They have no names. And they are in a constant run. The mother runs away from the daughter in an attempt to start new life, and the girl runs after her mother as she has no idea how to live without her. This endless run is full with repeated mistakes and resembles a barrel-organ sorrowful song or a spinning-top rotation. This small ridiculous toy "volchok" was the first toy in the girl's life, the only thing that tied her with the mother.

I got this a couple of weeks ago and after watching, I've been hesitant about [REL]'ing it...

But here it is...
This is a VERY heavy melodrama about a young girl desperately seeking love from a mother that's totally incapable of giving her any. (Consider that a warning...

)
Not since 'Ponette' have I seen such a sullen little child. She seriously never smiles throughout the whole film. (The closest she comes is the scene where she's hanging out a taxi's window, shown in the pix above.) The mother... ...well she's a b*tch-slut-whore-monster of a mom...
There's some pretty cool cinematography here, though: The director did a great job conveying an overwhelming sense of loneliness and desolation with the camerawork.

(*sigh* I'm at a freakin' loss at how to 'embed' a 'YouTube' vid in my posts these days.. I USED to be able to.. All I'd have to do was get the 'embed' addy from the youtube vid page, but that doesn't seem to work. Neither does the stinking 'youtube=' button..
