This story of young Tanya and Alyosha, their friendship and first love over the summer of 1961, stars 11-year-old Dariya Mikhaylova. If you're fond of short skirts then you're in luck ... so is Tanya!

I borrowed this version from a certain set of blogs that often borrows from this site (only fair, right?). It's full HD but upconverted to 4K. The actual dimensions are less than full 2160p, but bigger than 1080p. Ghost - if you're looking for a test case to try Topaz at 4K, this might be a good choice.

Sorry I couldn't find any subtitles. They don't seem to exist in any language. But the story isn't hard to follow without them, and Dariya is captivating enough to hold your attention.

You should try deadman's direct links. The zippyshare links can be downloaded one at a time and then reassembled. For the mega links, you should install their desktop app MEGAsync which will let you pause the download and resume it another day (the 4G connection probably gives you a different IP address every few hours, so exit MEGAsync when your daily quota has ended, then start it again after a while and you'll probably be able to continue on the same day).

Now you can say "it's a pity that only BAD subs are available." This .zip file extracts to machine-translated .srt English subtitles and the original unedited auto-generated .srt Russian subtitles from the YouTube video.

Keep your expectations low for these, they suffer from all the problems you would associate with auto-generated any language (frequent inaccuracies, I am sure) and machine translation from Russian to English (not very good). The only editing to the English was to remove the SDH information (e.g. "[music]"). They do give an idea what the characters are talking about much of the time, although dialog of two people does run together with no punctuation. These files would be a good starting point for someone with knowledge of Russian who wants to tackle a translation project.

I heartily agree, but after a couple hours of Googling (more time than the length of the movie) I wanted something to show for my efforts, so I had to fall back on one of the first Google results. Maybe I should try DuckDuckGo instead. I considered watching with the mangled subs and a glass of Scotch, but I did this one stone-cold sober. It enhanced my comprehension by a small amount, which is all I expected. So one scene of two people talking became a scene of two people talking about astronomy. There. I understand the movie a tiny bit more.

Maybe I should take time wasted on dead-end Google results and instead spend it on learning the Cyrillic alphabet. That might be more useful.
