There are some subs at opensubtitles but I don't know if they are in sync

These are the subs Ferdi found and they match up pretty closely. Thanks, ferdi.

Thank you, massiveattack! Slowly but surely I am gradually getting caught up on the older FLM films, thanks to terrific upgrades like this bringing them to my attention. I was surprised how funny this turned out to be, with witty dialog coming fast and furious like in a screwball comedy. I wonder if this was an influence on Pedro Almodóvar's early comedies. Surely the storyline was remade as [REL] Kodomo no kodomo (2008). These kids are so incredibly resourceful and clever!

Note: the English subtitles at opensubtitles are actually for a different film, so those are no good. I took the English subtitles posted by ghost a few years ago for the previous file, modified and re-synced them for this one.
Adios.ciguena.adios.1971.1080p.FO.WEB-DL.AAC2.0.H.264-CREATiVE.srt
(Wow, that worked, my first time attaching a file.) English subtitles on eMule for those who can not DDL:

Thank you, ghost, for the sequel "El niño es nuestro"!

I took your corrected subtitles and ... erm ... corrected them some more.

I noticed it go out of sync for 20 minutes starting at roughly the one hour mark, then go back to in sync.

(Lines 1077 - 1430 moved 1.5 seconds later, and the text of 1431 combined with 1430 to fit.):
El niño es nuestro (1973).720p.HDTV.en.srt
