Escape Into Night

Consists of six 25min episodes. Unfortunately, although the series was filmed in colour [ :) ], something happened to the original prints and all that are left are black and white transfers.

Synopsis:
The serial was an adaptation of Catherine Storr's novel 'Marianne Dreams', and deals with a young girl, Marianne, whose drawings become the basis for dreams, and how the dividing line between dreams and reality blurs. The novel was later adapted into a 1988 film, 'Paperhouse' [https://www.first-loves.com/forums/v ... Paperhouse].
I was surprised to finally find this series as the DVD only recently became available. :)

I really liked the creepy atmosphere of 'Paperhouse' and the story had a few tense moments. (Plus Charlotte Burke was appealing in a tomboyish sort of way... :heart ) However it veered away from Catherine Storr's novel in a lot of places.

THIS series follows the book a bit closer and has a more claustrophobic atmosphere. Because it shares similarities with the novel, the chills are designed more for children. Vikki Chambers is cute...

Enjoy! :)
