Thanks popdrome! Heh, woke up and came here to release this and you beat me, guess I shouldn't have spent time reading all 823 messages posted by Rich yesterday
I wasn't disappointed, I wasn't expecting much more than it was, given the filmmakers' motivations and the motivations of the camp organizers. The underlying theme is of empowering young girls. They do this in part by helping them achieve something in what is normally thought of as a male-dominated area (rock music). And realistically how much life-changing action can happen during a one week camp? It's easy to forget in movies and TV that the actresses are chosen for their appearance, this a cross-section of girls more typical of life.
Here's the "Where are they rocking now?" extras for the youngest girls (I left Misty and Laura off, not nearly as interesting I thought). Amelia's is nicest.
