Arriving at her cousins' home in a late eighties Latvia rattled by political turmoil as the Soviet Union begins to collapse, and faced with divorce in her own family, nine year old Paula learns that no matter what the future of her country might bring, family values are of greater significance than anything.

Līva Ločmele, Magda Lote Auziņa, Marta Ģertrūde Auzāne, and Evelīna Ozola. Līva looks to be about 7, and the three older girls somewhere in the 9-12 range. Very little personal information exists on any of them. The imdb pages are just placeholders that indicate they've done this film. Hopefully we'll see more of them in the future!There were no existing English subtitles. So I converted the Latvian subs to English, using Google and Bing translators and context to refine the rough results. I also corrected a number of individual subs which were badly out of sync with the dialogue. As usual, the subtitles are set to display automatically but are not hard coded and may be turned off.
