A tremendously rare Turkish movie from Reha Erdem, the director of "Kaç Para Kaç", which IMHO is the best Turkish movie ever. I can't say this movie is that good, but it deserves a much better rating than the curent one on IMDB. Please note, this is not a DVD-Rip, but a DVDR-Rip, and that's why the quality (especially the sound) is not exactly flawless. The feature has embedded English subtitles!

Synopsis: Yekta is an adolescent girl living with her aunts after the death of her immediate family. They have a really beautiful house on the island, and she's really happy with the setting. But because of the haunting memories and the little girl digging into them, one of the aunts decides it's better for her to go to school elsewhere, and even tries to make her friends with one of her students - a moronic but nice boy called Nurhan. The other aunt doesn't like the situation at all, and tries to talk Yekta into staying where she is. Either way, Yekta's mind is stuck in the old house and the haunting memories, no matter where her body is. This causes serious tension, and the girl begins to get stuck in parapsychological issues, uncovering the secret of the forbidden room along the way.

Yekta, 11 years old, is born and still lives in a mysterious, castle-like house, at the shore of the Bosphorus, together with her lame seagull, her spinster aunt, Nukhet Seza, and her grandfather, Sirri, paralyzed and bedridden, following the death of his son and bride. The bedroom of her mother is the place where Yekta takes shelter in, to daydream and hide her secrets. All she knows about her mother is that she had left one day in a little boat on the Bosphorus and that she would never return. One night, Yekta sees her mother go by in a little boat, through the window pane of her mother's room. But no one believes her. Her younger aunt Neyyir, an English-language teacher living on the Burgaz Island, wants her to be registered in the boarding school on the island. She thus aims to get her away from her longing for her mother and from that weird, haunted-like house. But Yekta is unwilling to go the island...

I don't know where the rest of the thread is, but this was definitely a [REL] at one time. I got the link from here, d/loaded and created a DVD of this film years ago.

I'm pretty sure I can find the file for this film fairly easily as I was looking through my data DVD's recently for another movie, and I recall seeing this one. If needed I can put it back in my share folder.

Again, this movie was most definitely [REL]'ed here and belongs in the [REL] forum. If the files seem 'incomplete' all that is needed is a 'please reshare' post...

I wrote that right after I saw this thread moved to the [REQ] forum. What kept me from POSTING that was after searching for the files, I found that they weren't as easy to find as I thought they would be and had disappeared into the dark abyss that is my apartment..

THEN [as usually happens] I came across the files while looking for something else..
