Status [FLL]

Since this is my 500th post here :icon_party and I've been quiet for a bit, this is a good time for a status thread.

Due to a combination of lack of time and technical issues, I've only been an observer here for the last 2-3 weeks. (Not that anyone noticed :) ) Probably be busy again next week, but for a little while I'll do some catching up here. I've got a backlog of things to comment on and release, if I can release one or two a day for a few days that will cut into it!

Some general info about me at FLM:

I currently have pretty healthy upload bandwidth. I usually keep files which have very few sources shared indefinitely, I usually un-share files with enough complete sources after a few days since I prefer to help keep the rarer files alive rather than make the other files download a little more quickly. I download and archive most releases here (since September 2006) and most posts at TLM (Usenet alt.binaries.movies.thelostmovies). So if there is no source or very slow sources for an old release, be sure to ask in the release thread and if I have it I will re-share!

I have been using the MorphXT eMule mod http://forum.emule-project.net/index.php?showforum=28 for some time. I like the configurability and the fact I can give an unlimited number of priority upload slots. If I recognize your name from here and/or you have [FLM] in your name, I'll give you a slot unless over time you upload almost nothing to me. Though if you're that guy in Israel who thinks stealing my nick will get you a slot, forget it ;)

With rare exceptions (such as responding to a [REQ]) I won't post anything here I haven't seen and don't like at least a little. My tastes span a wide range, from OT-only clip stuff to generally interesting movies and childrens movies. I especially like foreign (for me) movies, they are a look at life elsewhere in the world, but usually with English subs so I can really understand them. I do like "dark" movies as well as happy movies.

Thanks to everyone here at FLM for introducing me to such a wide variety of good movies I would have missed!

I am still far too busy lately and that might continue, but I did have a chance to drag myself to a film festival this Sunday. Very enjoyable day, I just added two films I saw and liked as a REQ and a Forthcoming Release here.

I also saw some shorts, which served to remind me that often you can't tell much by a short's description -- often any meaningful information becomes an instant spoiler. None of them were really postable at FLM, but this is my thread so here are a couple of good ones which are available online.

I Love Sarah Jane (2008)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1157658/
Jimbo is 13 and can think of only one girl -- Sarah Jane. And no matter what stands in his way-bullies, violence, chaos, or zombies-nothing will stop him from finding a way into her world.
I had had high hopes for this being FLM-able but the actress who played Sarah Jane was just a bit too old, and anyway the film is notable primarily for the atmosphere the film creates (especially vivid on the big screen) rather than the love interest. But the movie poster is very cool (look at the bottom!)

Spider (2007)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1029161/

This is completely offtopic for FLM, a dark sort-of-comedy that no doubt some will hate, but it provoked a huge reaction from the crowd and I guarantee most people there including me is telling people they know "you have to see this." It's online at youtube and someplace called qoob.tv, but don't read the comments there or at IMDB because waaay too many people like to make themselves feel important and/or annoying by posting spoilers.

9 minutes.
