Controversial Album Covers

Post by Rich_Visiting »   1 likes

Some of these are worth checking out, not for any sort of thrill but because it's really interesting to see what was acceptable / of interest at the time (in comparison to the more recent witch-hunt days). Some of the album art involves childhood poses which where taken as an outlet of expression. Something lost these days...

Please don't post images, this is just for interest / discussion.

" more recent witch-hunt days", that started in the 80's already ;-)

Hmm, probably more early 2000's, all the late 80's / 90's stuff was about Satanic Cults  but in the end there was no evidence to suggest such systematic occurrences. Check out https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117293 to get a feel for the paranoia of the time, very interesting (but disturbing) story definitely worth a watch (if only for the early Metallica  ). Then, late 90's / 2000's things rapidly developed online, then 2010+ social conditioning creates a witch-hunt culture for everything lol  IMO.

edit hmm I'm not sure where this reply came from, perhaps the reverberation of the word witch , it's true though

Link if anyone wants to watch it (ed2k will have more HQ release because this is somewhat of a cult / controversial classic)...

edit some disturbing content and it was a very tragic thing that happened...

Here's a good compilation of album covers featuring children that I think you all might find interesting: https://pigtailsinpaint.org/tag/album-art/.

By the way, if you didn't yet know about it, Pigtails in Paint is an excellent resource for art and movies (mostly art though, i.e. photography, paintings, sculptures) featuring young girls ;).

To ygl: I have just one thing to say. Beautiful, simply beautiful! (Okay, that's three things, but who's counting?) :D

Thank you.
