Due to a virus last night, I had to refresh my computer. Now re-installing emule.

Up to this point in emule setup
eMule can be set to block IP addresses and the community maintains blacklists. Go back to Options -> Security and enable "Filter servers too" under IP Filter. Type http://www.bluetack.co.uk/config/level1.gz in the "Update from URL" box and click Load.
This site is GONE. What is a new site to put in...?

Thanks, will wait for this before moving on to the next step.

After a quick check, bluetack seems to only provide those services to premium memberships, now...
If I can find a way to figure this out, I'll let you know :)

This looks like it's working OK: http://upd.emule-security.org/ipfilter.zip

[3/4/2023 Night457 MODERATOR EDIT: PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK. This link is so old and I do not know if anyone has tested the file lately. I can download it, unzip it, and look at it in Notepad. I am not about to USE it. I don't care about IPfilters anyway.]

I know it loads and updates without a problem and the emule-security.org site is 'safe' but I haven't gone through the update line-by-line to see if there's anything wrong in it. It appears to be working and it appears to be legitimate. To check it, download the file in your browzer, unzip it, and list the file (it's straight text). It lists line-by-line the bad guy sites your eMule forbids to connect to you. You should also consider that there's no such thing as a 100% block - the bad guys can just use a different IP, proxy, and/or domain.

I'm not convinced that the IP filter is useful at all. I had my own perfectly legit IP listed in it once. On the other hand, the bad guys can always get an IP that is not listed if they want.
