Keine Angst (2009) (aired on television 2010)

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1345459/
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keine_Angst

Starring Michelle Barthel https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1338409/ (15-16 during filming) playing 13yo Becky who has to take care of her alcoholic mother and her siblings. Becky then meets a boy from a rich family and falls in love the first time.

I watched this film back then and while it’s definitely about a sad topic, Barthel gave such a strong performance. She and the film itself won the Grimme Award in 2011 for this film and also an award from DEFA. Barthel since then had a successful acting career. In her 2013 Film „Spieltrieb“ she (as a 20yo) played a 15yo who had sex with one of her teachers and let her boyfriend Film it to blackmail the teacher: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spieltrieb_(Film)

I am surprised that to this day this film hasn’t been released anywhere again (DVD/VoD), and plan on releasing the Copy I still got of this film.
13-year-old Becky is not only the eldest sister for her three siblings, but also a surrogate mother, since the actual mother is mainly devoted to alcohol, the constantly running television and changing male acquaintances.
14-year-old Becky lives with her three little siblings and her mother Corinna in a high-rise housing estate on the outskirts of the city. Corinna buries her misery in drunkenness and Becky has to play the head of the family. Can this go well?

Reviews (deepl.com translated):
Spoiler:

"'No Fear' gives the protagonists and the deeply moved viewer a spark of hope. This succeeds not only because of the great work with the actors, but also thanks to the extraordinary visual language of the film. [...] And so 'No Fear' is a supposedly small very big film!"
- Rainer Tittelbach

"In this television film, however great the emotional impact, there is no hope. It only triggers fears, although it claims the opposite in its title. Nothing, then, would be worse than for this film to go unchallenged."
- FAZ

"'No Fear' tells of the harshness of the world, but equally of an unbroken faith in the power of love: against all odds, Becky and Bente manage to make contact. For both of them it is their first love, and the director stages their encounter as an intangibly tender touch in a raw world. The film leaves nothing out, showing here lost children's eyes, neglected two-room apartments, sexual assaults and extinguished girls' faces. And there, hermetic row houses, insecure middle-class parents and an overtaxed welfare state that can no longer even alleviate hardship, but only administer it."
- Frankfurter Rundschau

"Sensitive and tender (TV) love and youth story with pointed dialogues; that the balancing act between realistic hard drama and fairy-tale romance works has not least to do with the convincing (and excellently directed) youthful lead actors."
- Encyclopedia of International Film
Long Synopsis from ARD (https://programm.ard.de/TV/daserste/kei ... 5729472207) deepl.com translated:
Spoiler:

The fathers have come and gone, the shabby conditions have remained. Corinna still hopes that someday the right man will come along. Until then, she buries her misery in drunkenness. Meanwhile, 14-year-old Becky has to be the head of the family. She is happy to do so, because she likes her little brothers and sisters. Her best friend Melanie (Carolyn Sophia Genzkow) thinks the little ones are "useless rug rats" and is also otherwise the complete opposite of Becky.

While Becky dreams of a first romantic love, Melanie already has the boys firmly in her grasp and, as a "sugar bitch," is the queen of the neighborhood. Although the two couldn't be more different, they stick together, especially when the wind blows a little harder through the high-rise world.

When Becky is caught fare dodging on the bus, a strange boy rescues her from trouble. Becky can hardly believe it, no one has ever done anything like that for her. She courageously follows his trail and for the first time crosses the borders of her neighborhood until she finds her rescuer Bente (Max Hegewald) in a world that is completely foreign to her: in a house with a garden and parents who bake apple pie on Sundays.

At first, Bente seems totally overwhelmed by Becky's appearance. He is not exactly a cool guy. Secluded, he lives with geckos and mussel amino acids and other incomprehensible stuff. But that doesn't bother Becky. On the contrary, their first love comes over them both with a vengeance. Becky is so happy that she is late for the social services station where she has to pick up her little brothers and sisters. The youth welfare office threatens to take the little ones away from the family. In addition, Becky has to watch her friend Melanie being beaten up by the high-rise clique. When she tries to help Melanie, a huge fight breaks out between the two for the first time. As if that weren't enough, Corinna also presents Thomas (Frank Giering), who has just been kicked out by Melanie's mother, as the new head of the family. Bente's house is also in trouble: his parents are anything but enthusiastic about Becky. And then Bente is beaten up by the high-rise clique and is sent to boarding school. But Bente and Becky don't give up. Against all odds, they fight for their happiness. Unfortunately, the situation comes to a head and a catastrophe occurs on Becky's birthday of all days.

The film by "Grimme" award winner Aelrun Goette was awarded the audience prize in the feature film competition at the "Festival des deutschen Kinos-Films" in Mainz in 2009. Previously, it had received the "Förderpreis der DEFA-Stiftung" and he "Fair-Play-Preis" at the "14. Chemnitzer Filmfestival Schlingel" for children and young audiences.

I have that file in the same resolution with a short intro. I think there is no better quality available. I download it from the Mediathek in 2011. It's with a short intro / comment and have a TV Station Branding (see my Screencaps).

I don't remember me on all details, but what I know is, that this one is a intense drama and it was one of the good ones who I have seen.

Could you put your version here, Nasuada? I think that your webrip looks a little bit sharper than the uloz.to one that is really horrible. It doesn't have the 3sat logo which means it's not the same file. Thx, Jez.

I gave it to ghost because I do not want to give access to my IP and I have no good solution to be safe on eMule. I'm sure he will post it soon.
