But after some time you have saved which scripts to allow and are still saver on all the random new websites you visit because JavaScript from random domains aren’t being loaded. And websites often load more quickly since less (unnecessary) stuff gets loaded.
Java is needed for local applications like JDownloader (which is why it can run on Windows, Linux, MacOS easily). The dangers a couple years ago came mostly from allowing & running Java within the WebBrowser (Java-Plugins) as far as I understand. Similar to the Flash-Plugin vulnerabilities.
Without NoScript you are always allowing websites to run their code (JavaScript) inside your browser on your computer. That comes with a certain malware risk. But yes, uBlockOrigin is the first and important step to prevent malware as well (coming from shady Ad networks)
I‘m sure Usenet would be content heaven for you, Night. But yes, paying for a flatrate account or block account (block account = you buy 500gb once and can use that account until you’ve used all GB’s of traffic; flatrate you can download unlimited for a monthly fee) is a requirement.
I guess that’s one of the reasons it is still far behind in popularity to stuff like torrents/p2p. But then again..some pay for the filehosts/alldebrid accounts. So another reason for less popularity is probably the technical knowledge required, although imho it’s far less complex than setting up eMule
I doubt Amzn,Netflix care about file names..or let’s just say p2p releases already include the source for years (AMZN.WEBRIP/NF.WEBRip). The scene is just very strict and sometimes extremely oldschool as well when it comes to rules of File names, let alone their strict encoding rules (which is why many people stick to higher quality p2p releases as scene releases must obey to the encoding rules (and therefore it’s limits) of the scene.
