Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!! :heart
It’s such an amazing piece of film. This week I’ve watched some of „Menina Do Lado“ and yesterday „La Puce“. The former feels really authentic and intense (in a good way). I had to laugh when it came to Flavia‘s Second sex scene in „Menina Do Lado“, knowing what the director/assistant director told her (that she should act like piggyback riding). Her screams were so funny because so not authentic haha
(Terrible translation from yandex)

But, without a doubt, my biggest challenge, I think it was in the hands of the men. I was about 14 years old, and I had to do the one thing that I didn't even know how it was,”

The protagonist of the controversial film, “The little Girl's Hand”, the actress talks about how he tried to sequences calientes: “I went on a pad to play a piggyback ride”

Actually, the first movie I ever saw Isild Le Besco in was Les filles ne savent pas nager (2000), a.k.a. Girls Can't Swim (she was 17 at the time). La Puce is one of those films I always wished existed in a better version. I was happy to find this! :D

I know what you mean. Flavia's screaming was so loud it was unintentionally comical. She sounded more like someone being murdered. Although she seemed to have no issues with modesty and shedding her clothes, the sex scene was very obviously faked (as it would have to be).

I couldn’t have said it better myself. And yes, her other nude and beach scenes are more..sensual. I have to admit, the film is just interesting to me in the way it gives a glimpse at Brazil back then and that I haven’t seen many Brasilian films in general. Flavia and her character in the Film weren’t seductive - as you can see often in french films.

There are different categories of films. Something like „Madaloszenza“ will not be watched for it’s good acting or meaningful storytelling. With a film like „Béau Père“ you get both great acting and interesting story along with beautiful plot and eye candy. Other films might fall in the middle. But I think it’s a handful of films that can fully deliver when it comes to story and nudity. I haven’t fully seen films like „Het Debuut“ yet. And still haven’t seen the majority of FLM films I’ve downloaded.

With „Beau Pere“ it was easy because while the film might have its flaws, it’s generally a well made film in my opinion. So it was kind of an „easy watch“. „A Nos Amours“ definitely tested my patience at times but I want to give it another try. I found the script switching between scenes too much or the Film not following a clear enough path which sucks because Bonnaire gave it her all with the acting performance.

@jezevex‘s ARTE TVRip version (viewtopic.php?p=80084#p80084) got German Hardcoded subtitles. You guys (especially subtitle master @Night457) think it’s possible to somehow extract and OCR the German subtitles for @deadman‘s higher quality version that doesn’t include these subtitles?

Ewww yuck, I never myself had success with OCRing hardsubs. Can you guess who here has?

See this post here:

The solutions are the same whether you use the resulting SRT as is, or translate it.

Anyone here used this one before with success?

https://sourceforge.net/projects/videosubfinder/

Tutorial (ignore the dumb download links or site trying to sell their Software): https://www.videoconverterfactory.com/t ... itles.html

Also paging others that might be interested in the technical side of this:

Yes, and I wrote about it in another thread. It works pretty well. But you need an OCR-reading software like Abbey FineReader.

I use videosubfinder as well. For OCR-reading I use https://github.com/manisandro/gImageReader but you can also use SubtitleEdit. Both use tesseract under the hood.

I used timings from Night457 post (Mon Jun 19, 2023 11:21 pm)
synchronized that srt with German hardsubbed video (found with the help of Google)
wrote down all text, synchronized back (so the timings are again the same as in Night457 post)
and spellcheched. Here is the result. It is possible that speller didn't notice everything so
feel free to correct.
There was a few short phrases that were in English subs but not in German hardsubs
Those I invented himself. Again - feel free to correct if something is wrong.
To make my work more easy, I wrote only with capital letters.

Movie itself wasn't my taste but it was quite real in the meaning that there are a lot of such men and girls in real life
