Actually, the first movie I ever saw
Isild Le Besco in was
Les filles ne savent pas nager (2000), a.k.a. Girls Can't Swim (she was 17 at the time).
La Puce is one of those films I always wished existed in a better version. I was happy to find this!
I know what you mean. Flavia's screaming was so loud it was unintentionally comical. She sounded more like someone being murdered. Although she seemed to have no issues with modesty and shedding her clothes, the sex scene was very obviously faked (as it would have to be).
I couldn’t have said it better myself. And yes, her other nude and beach scenes are more..sensual. I have to admit, the film is just interesting to me in the way it gives a glimpse at Brazil back then and that I haven’t seen many Brasilian films in general. Flavia and her character in the Film weren’t seductive - as you can see often in french films.
There are different categories of films. Something like „Madaloszenza“ will not be watched for it’s good acting or meaningful storytelling. With a film like „Béau Père“ you get both great acting and interesting story along with beautiful
plot and eye candy. Other films might fall in the middle. But I think it’s a handful of films that can fully deliver when it comes to story and nudity. I haven’t fully seen films like „Het Debuut“ yet. And still haven’t seen the majority of FLM films I’ve downloaded.
With „Beau Pere“ it was easy because while the film might have its flaws, it’s generally a well made film in my opinion. So it was kind of an „easy watch“. „A Nos Amours“ definitely tested my patience at times but I want to give it another try. I found the script switching between scenes too much or the Film not following a clear enough path which sucks because Bonnaire gave it her all with the acting performance.
