Not gonna lie, while the explicitness or more so violence of the scene surprised me the first time - I expected more. The way they filmed it with him still having his pants on, it just looked comical/unrealistic and not believable. Like the „bad guy“ wasn’t raping her but just dry humping a girl on the beach (not saying that would be less uncomfortable for her).

Lost authenticity.

What I’m trying to say is, it took me out of the film/scene and „story“ (lol).

The scene also vaguely reminded me of Kelly Brooks famous beach rape scene in „Survival Island“ (where she first resists but then gives in) her husband in that film was played by „Titanic“ actor Billy Zane

I kind of love romantic, sex scenes at the beach. I’ve seen some p0rnhub videos where couples have sex on the Beach while the sun goes down. Kind of a stunning look lol. But yeah…realistically it’s probably more like..

Well, I think keeping the pants on were a concession to the reality that whatever the script said the characters were doing, the cast and crew could not afford to make it look too much like an adult man was actually having sex with a minor. As is I think they got as close as they dared .

In any case, I would imagine that taking off a pair of jeans while trying not to lose a desperately-struggling victim would be very difficult, so plot-wise you could rationalize it as him not wanting to risk her breaking free.

What we were saying was that he didn't pull them down far enough, or unzip his fly. It had to be clear the scene was faked and there was no actual sex. Otherwise this movie would've been banned immediately.

As it is, the uncensored version was banned in the UK. But since it was sold on Amazon it was still easy to get. I notice they don't carry it anymore - whether that's due to complaints being filed, or the disc is simply out of print now, who can say?

I remember this being shown on channel 5 in the uk in the late 90s, as far as I can remember it wasn't cut.
At the time I had no idea how old she was, due to the fact there was no internet back then, but I do remember thinking she looked quite young.

It was on premium cable even in the United States during the late 80's/early 90's. Cinemax I think. They didn't call it Skinemax for nothing. Late night Friday and Saturday was basically soft core porn theater.

I don't think most people remember how hard it was to find random information before the internet. You could turn up quite a lot if you were willing to comb through libraries, make lots of photocopies and scroll through endless reels of microfiche. It took time and dedication. And of course it was almost impossible to share anything you learned, because ... no internet. Books on underage actresses in cinema were the sort of thing you'd find in magazine ads. Or if you were lucky, your public library might have one - which you would sandwich between other books on your way to a table in the corner so no one could see what you were reading.

Cinemax probably wouldn't have aired this movie if they knew how young Livia really was. Not being able to just look that detail up, they made some incorrect assumptions and put it on the air. They also showed some of Hamilton's films. Tendres Cousines, Premiers désirs, Bilitis, and Laura. By the late 90's though, these types of films had mostly disappeared from premium movie channels in the US. I saw them as a teenager and it was 20 years before I saw them again. I never would've remembered the titles, I just encountered David Hamilton on the internet and realized I'd seen some of those movies before. Had actually looked for several of them unsuccessfully - knowing the title is kind of important. I Mavri Emmanouella is another film I'd never have found again on my own in a million years.

I remember watching Pretty Baby on Sky Cinema in about 2001/2002, and it was the original uncropped version.
I actually had internet on my phone (early days of mobile internet) so i'd read about it somewhere.
