[REL] Parnikovyy effekt AKA The Greenhouse effect (2005)

Stars Elena Polyakova and, in his first screen appearance, Sasha (Aleksandr) Yakin. Born 06/08/1990, Sasha was 15 when the film was released (09/01/2005) but given his appearance he was clearly younger when the film was actually shot - probably 13 as per the character he plays, however no filming dates are known.

Boy-movie, but adult co-star Elena has an interesting scene similar to the first screenshot below (she was probably around 24, but her character is 18).

Thank you for the movie, Walter! This seems like a nice drama. There are possible upgrades on blizzardkid (dvdrip and dvd5) and rutracker:

I found another quaint plot synopsis:
A story about the life of modern young people. There were two lonely, lost teenagers. Rita, a small-town girl, is alone in an unfamiliar, busy city. Her baggage was stolen at the railway station. She has no papers, no money, she doesn’t know the address of her new friend, whom she met with for only a short moment. Rita is saved by a homeless boy nicknamed Mute, whom the indifferent society ignores as well. Only together they can make thaw the ice in each other’s soul.

Thank YOU, pillowbaker! I had mentioned the film previously but only just now got around to releasing it because I needed to find English subs for it first. I definitely welcome upgrades - I'll check on that blizzardkid link, but anybody feel free to beat me to the punch and post a better version. :D

UPDATE: I tried to register as a member there to download the film but for some reason the registration did not work - can somebody who's already on there download a copy (preferably 1080p)? :(

I have heard rumors of problems for new members signing up, possibly a region restriction issue. Even logged out it is clear enough that there is no 1080p version there. Here are public links:

DVD-Rip 698Mb: https://rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=591747

DVD-Rip 1.37Gb: https://ulozto.net/file/xMQ7oh8bB/parni ... nts-ru-avi
OR

[Note: ulozto measures file sizes differently than most anyone else.]

DVD-Rip 1.46Gb: https://rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3881182

DVD5 4.32Gb: https://rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2159442

I have not verified the results of any of the links, even to see if the rutracker torrents are still live. (Usually they are.) The Russian text at rutracker can be translated using Chrome page translate.

Hey, thanks for that ulozto link - I'll download it since it seems to be a little better than the one I posted. If it is, I'll create a emule link for it. :)

EDIT: It WAS better, so here's the emule link:

The subs from the top post work fine with this one - here they are again:

I was wondering ... what sort of magic was it that made the subtitles automatically appear for the video in VLC in the first Release? The files have two completely different names, in two different alphabets! I am used to them needing matching filenames.

I dunno how it works either - I just found a subtitle file for the film, tried it with the copy I had and it worked. Also worked with the upgrade, though the file name for that one is closer to the srt.

Just now I tried it again, and it gave me 18 subtitle choices! It is now in a shared folder with 18 other subtitles from different movies, where before it was in my Incoming folder with only the single subtitle. Maybe this is some new feature of an updated VLC? But the files with matching subtitle filenames only offer those subtitles, and the files with no subtitle offer nothing. Maybe it is something about the Cyrillic filename that makes VLC lose its mind, and say "Uh, HERE ... maybe one of these subtitles will work?!"
