Thank you, I'm RELeasing the Full HD one - there's not so big difference between this and 4K one in this case...

No RFF entry yet.

Thanks for the links and files!
If it matters to anyone these super high quality Vimeo files are released at resolution above 1920 width. Many TVs and hardwared players won't play anything above 1920x1080p resolution. So I recomend dropping it into handbrake to re-encode it.

Yes, but only old TVs and computers. 4K is today's standard. And pls don't recommend Handbrake for reencoding. I think most people don't know how to use the settings (or just using the standard profile) and will end up with a 30 fps file...

Some of these aren't true 4k - but somewhere between 1080p and 4k - and might confuse people who want to play it on their bluray player / 1080p hardware. I know Night plays things through his bluray player.
In the Soulmate post I mentioned the settings to use to get a high quality Handbrake encode ("framerate = same as source + constant framerate", speed of "slow" (or "medium" if a slow PC) and depending on your patience (fast and above will deliver more obvious mpeg blocking for the same data rate), 2-pass encode at about 3000kbit with 160kb aac audio, and all the de-interlace stuff on the video tab can be turned to "off"). But it was only an FYI for anyone having trouble. From the people I know most have TV's that are 2-10 years old - TV's don't fail much so some will be on older hardware. I personally have a 4k player and an OLED TV that is 4k. But to get the OLED quality (my monitor isnt) I prefer to play things through the hardware player to get both the OLED quality picture and 5.1 audio (when available) - even if that means re-encoding AAC to AC3.

I looked at the specs of the "FHD" version and I see what you mean: it is 2732x1144, which is more like "QHD" (Quad HD / 1440p / 2k) than 1080p (1920x1080).

I actually use my 4kUHD blu-ray player, so I can handle the H265 and 4k files that my older 1080p computer has difficulty playing back in VLC. But I understand your point. I have never taken a survey, but I wonder how much of an oddball I am to go the (hard_drive)>(Blu-ray_player_USB input)>(TV) route. I suspect maybe most people watch on their computer or directly connect their computer to the TV?

I have to agree with ghost that Handbrake is non-intuitive and confusing to Newbies who easily use it wrong. I first used it 15+ years ago but I don't even want to think about what I was doing, fumbling through it ... only recently have I gotten geeky enough to use it right, when I need it. It is not like they tell you "30fps is the default but don't use it." I think something like XMedia Recode is probably easier. Or maybe Any Video Converter? (Have not used that one in forever.) But ultimately all video recoders have a learning curve, and it is up to the user to decide whether they want to learn it right.

I find you can't normally go wrong if you use the "same as source" option in it. I don't know why that's not defaulted!
But it defaults to things like "de-interlace" button for nubes - even when 99% of what I drop-in is not interlaced. But I can see why they do it because trying to encode interlaced video creates a horrific mess - and I bet the de-interlace doesn't do anything if it's not interlaced.
It's my go-to for encoding - but everyone has their favourite tools :)
