Maybe the Scots ease up the accent even for their ENGLISH friends. ... It took me about 5 episodes before I finally understood the entirety of what she was chattering on about in the opening! ... You don't start a show from the first episode, you just jump right in the middle??? That is bizarre! ... Never having heard of this kind of competition, I was thinking that in the olden days when pooh sticks had more than enough use and you were throwing them away, it might be fun to make a game out of it.

I wonder how much they asked the actors to refine their accent. I admit, I did have to backtrack a few times: "my mom says it's an absolute mitten." Mitten? That's a new one. Side note, check out this interesting Scottish English dictionary.

So, I jumped into the middle to see if everything was working ok. Didn't just want to check the beginning. Have to admit, I watched longer than I anticipated. The show is a bit of a joy.

Night457 wrote: Thu Aug 31, 2023 12:55 pm Yes, it works! I was very confused for a while because I could not click on the menu options with my mouse cursor like I normally do. It seemed like a dead menu. EVENTUALLY I figured out that I could navigate the menu using the keyboard arrows & Enter keys. I have no idea if this is something wacky with my computer or some ISOs are different than others.

The menu worked fine for me with the mouse, but you have to place the cursor over the left side of the options, like this:

Anyone else who's grabbed this, please let me know how the menu works for you, just in case this is an issue on my side. deadman, any ideas?

I think it might have something to do with these old menus not having been designed with the idea that somebody might pop them into a computer someday.

Ok, here's the second disc. This one has a Halloween episode! :D :D
Keep in mind, there's a "Next" button in the episode selection menu. There are 5 more episodes in that panel.

I thought I understood her meaning in context and maybe I have heard it before, but the dictionary just left me confused!

Even with short movies around 90min I need to take a break in the middle. Normally my limit is an hour. This one kept me fascinated throughout.

Hell! You are right, it works perfectly. I was clicking on the text AND also trying to do so with my finger on the touch screen. There is no problem with your ISO, it is just how the original DVD is.

Wow, the second one already! Fantastic! I was not even sure you had more. I noted how they skipped the Halloween episode when I looked at the IMDB Episode list. I wondered if it was BANNED for causing offense to pirates or something, but I looked some more and saw there was a DVD called "Katie Morag and the Halloween Pirate and Other Great Stories" so I stopped worrying.

Thanks again!

Yeah, I might not have been very clear that I was going to share all three. Heheh, all I wrote was, "this is disc 1 of 3". But now I am ever so pleased to present disc 3!

For anyone who's interested in Katie's adventures but has issues with emule, I'll be uploading them all to uloz for your benefit.

Now, maybe we can get enough interest for someone to help out with season 2! I saw it mentioned on the first page that is available on amazon UK. Is amazon UK savvy to VPN switchers? Anyone able to take a look into it? I wonder if they're 720p as well. 8-)

Awesome sauce! Once I realized how much I loved this, I decided to dole out watching episodes to only a few at a time. That way I could spread out the joy, rather than having one great day and then after that back to the usual misery.

Seasons one and two for sale, supposedly in HD and with English captions:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Katie-Morag-an ... 415&sr=1-1
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Katie-Morag-Go ... 415&sr=1-2

I am afraid I know nothing about how to record from Amazon.

Funny you should say that. I have been uploading Discs One and Two to ulozto as individual episodes, including the Behind the Scenes special. They are 1:1 copies of the DVD video and audio in MKV containers. This is how I watch digital DVDs myself, and I plan to do the same for Disc Three. [EDIT, later: DONE!] They are currently available Via link (below), so they will not show up with a Public "Katie Morag" search. FLM gets first access!

Disc One episodes and Behind the Scenes:
https://ulozto.net/tamhle/AdEHDdJvVpGK/ ... 1CGTRkBD==

Disc Two episodes:
https://ulozto.net/tamhle/SQ9lchUbtMBM/ ... cAGwVkAD==

Disc Three episodes:
https://ulozto.net/tamhle/Sw6g1IRNXJrR/ ... Inp2uyMGR1

So, pillowbaker, I will leave it to you if you care to upload the large ISO files (and the tiny MDS).

Didn't I say thank you? No, I didn't. :? :shock: So I'm doing it now! :thumbsup

The 2 seasons at Amazon Prime are a bit expensive. :(

Note: I have now uploaded the Disc 3 DVD-quality episodes as MKVs to ulozto.
