And I thought you REGRETTED getting into terminology discussions with me!

I admit right away that I can't argue with you on this one because you are absolutely right, the only thing "converted" is the container not the contents. So it was re-containered. I know, I know, REMUXED, I am just resistant to using made-up nonsense words like "mux". I don't even know what it means!
mux
/mʌks/
noun. - a multiplexer.
verb. - short for multiplex.
In electronics, a multiplexer (or mux; spelled sometimes as multiplexor), also known as a data selector, is a device that selects between several analog or digital input signals and forwards the selected input to a single output line.
My head just exploded.

That wasn't my intention.

Nah! I'm just pretty busy in real life atm. Haven's just the time to read an "entire book" every day.

I try to use the correct terminology but I do get lazy, so I actually appreciate you calling me out and keeping me on my toes.

I have not had the time to read a book in a few years because I spend so much time online. Really, can you believe that?

I have noticed myself that a lossless conversion of TS to MKV produces a slightly smaller file and do not know why. MKV is a more compact "container" maybe, like a big man wearing tight clothes?

Also, in VLC and some/most (not all) other media players, an external subtitle will not play with a TS. So if someone had VLC, a French unsubtitled TS, and an external Spanish SRT subtitle they wanted to play together, they would either have to use a different media player or convert the TS to an MKV.
My guess would also be metadata getting lost in the process

Selecting 1 or 2 subtitle track does not display anything.
Subtitle Edit is also unable to generate subtitles from these tracks.
The third subtitle track is a hard version of the French subtitles.

Of course, the same situation is in the mkv file.
I also get nothing for the first track, but ACTUALLY, the 2nd subtitle track in the MKV is a German DVBsub of 10 lines translating parts of the credits (e.g. "Buch und regie" ) and crediting the German dub voice performers. Most of this is during the end credits.

Thanks for the MKV!

And now that we have an MKV clean of hardcoded subtitles, here are
English synced subtitles for it:
Un poison violent.en.srt
