Yes it is spoken in flemish, which is what they speak in the dutch part of Belgium actually. It is a sort of dutch with heavy dialect. If you are from the Netherlands you can pretty much understand it, but some words they use are different.ghost wrote: Sun Oct 22, 2023 9:24 pmI have really no idea, why they did it this way. It was only 3 euros, so it didn't hurt me much. They seem to be catering solely to the Dutch hearing-impaired in that case. Or is "Muidhond" made in a dialect with a minority of speakers, and they assume that most would need the subtitles to understand it?![]()

Aha! Thank you, sam1967. Now it makes sense.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I really did it and it worked perfectly. You won't notice anything. It is possible to de-logo and remove the hard subs if you have two video sources that have the same frame rate, since the logo is at the top and the subtitles at the bottom.
232 pixels at the top are from mejane.com, 848 pixels at the bottom from HBO.

I muxed it with the DD5.1 audio from the DVD:

"Maybe" ?
Well, I think everyone is grateful that you are whatever you are, ghost.
I went through the multiple torrents and quickly ruled out the HBO-sourced ones, including ones where the logo was visibly blurred out. I downloaded one that I THOUGHT was "clean" but no, it was just another delogoed version. I did not have issues with your previous release, but I understand the search for The Holy Grail Version.
I am looking forward to checking this out. I am sure you are uninterested in writing up instructions for the technique, but are you willing to name the software you used to combine the different video sources? It would not surprise me if there are other nutters willing to try this too. I might as well ask on their behalf while I am responding.
P.S.: I am still bewildered at DVDs of modern movies having 5.1 audio, while 1080p WebRips only having the 2.0 stereo. Thanks for routinely fixing that too!
Re: [REL] Muidhond AKA Tench (2019)
First, I cropped the 2 videos with VirtualDub2. One to 1920x232 pixels, the other one to 1920x848 pixels (232 + 848 = 1080).I am sure you are uninterested in writing up instructions for the technique, but are you willing to name the software you used to combine the different video sources?
I saved them both as a ProRes to not loosing any quality.
Then I loaded both cropped videos in Davinci Resolve (one as an overlay to the other one) and moved them exactly to the needed position to get a 1920x1080p video.
Davinci Resolve has a great function to sync both video clips (with syncing both audio tracks). This can be done also with Adobe Premiere Pro, but it failed with this footage, I don't know why.

Thank you! This makes the method clear enough to point those capable of it in the correct direction. I was surprised (and pleased) that for this you were using the "old classics" in software, with one of them fully free and open source (VirtualDub). (DaVinci Resolve Studio being a paid version of the other. I think I can guess which version you use.) Some day I really ought to learn VirtualDub. I know you have mentioned both of them a number of times.
On the film: I confess that I still do not understand the part about the fish.

Yes, I still like VirtualDub a lot. But I am using VirtualDub2, which has a few more features and you can import any file (not only .avi).

And about the fish: I never thought much about it. Doesn't he just have one? Or is there more behind it?

Re: [REL] Muidhond AKA Tench (2019)
There are many fish in the processing plant where he works, but there is only one he has as a pet ... in a tank rather small for the size of the fish. I thought about it because I kept wondering WHY. It does not seem to me to have anything to do with his problematic human interactions. Does he relate to the fish on an emotional level? I just don't "get" it.

Kinda funny how VirtulDub and AviDemux started as avi software but later supported many other containers/codecsghost wrote: Tue Oct 24, 2023 10:39 am Yes, I still like VirtualDub a lot. But I am using VirtualDub2, which has a few more features and you can import any file (not only .avi).
