I know Cloudflare stops me frequently (because of my VPN?) and that some sites are worse than others, but I don't know WHOSE Captchas are the worst. I am always bewildered when Google decides a Captcha is needed for a simple search. As if that really prevents bots from trawling through billions of Search results to mine data??

Just you wait: soon you will need to provide official ID to access any site, just like an Internet Passport. So many people willingly hand over their identity online that They will be able to demand it outright for all services, and no one will think anything of it... "Papers, please."

What REALLY gets me is the sites where I actually login, and STILL they demand Captcha solving ... because apparently a bot has taken over my account. Thank you, Opensubtitles.

Every day that AI gets more advanced and takes over complicated tasks that previously only intelligent humans could master, I wonder where is the AI that will solve the Captchas for me! I tried the Captcha-filler that JD2 had but it did not work for me.

To be fair, there was a time where even Apple iCloud Login didn’t have rate limiting and people could just throw thousands of Passwort attempts at the login site without getting rate limited or banned if I remember correctly this is how some accounts were hacked back in the day.
