Seven-year-old Solvej lives alone with her mentally ill mother in an apartment full of tinned food and dirty clothes. As the mental illness worsens, it is up to Solvej to take up the fight and accept the conditions mother and daughter are faced with. In the middle of the mess, Solvej dreams away in her drawings, which are brought to life and take her away from the world in which she has been placed.
