Google Chrome page translation not working

Is anyone else encountering this problem now?
I just noticed it in the past few days. It is not working on any languages for me.

Fixes I have tried:
A. Disabling my VPN.
1. ENABLE TRANSLATE PROMPTS
2. UPDATE GOOGLE CHROME VERSION
3. CLEAR THE SITE CACHE AND COOKIES
4. TRANSLATE WEB PAGES MANUALLY
5. DISABLE EXTENSIONS IN CHROME
6. RESET GOOGLE CHROME SETTINGS TO DEFAULT

The above methods all failed. Finally, I tried this and it worked:
7. INSTALL GOOGLE CHROME TRANSLATE EXTENSION

Naturally I am offended that a built-in Chrome feature has stopped working and that I need an extension to get it back. It was ONLY the page translation function that made me switch to Chrome in the first place! I have discovered that Edge has a built-in page translate that works well, but otherwise I despise Edge. I will have to install Firefox again and see if they have decided to incorporate a page translate also. Or maybe Opera?

Hopefully your chrome will return to normal after some future updates. I can tell you my chrome browser has not given me any such issues yet, and I hate the idea of installing another extension to the browser.

If they intentionally made this built-in feature to get us to install their extension, that would also be grounds for a new browser for me, too. New browser must have something as good as the "dark reader" extension, which has been a lifesaver for my sensitive little eyeballs, though.

No translating issues on my side either. Chrome is working as usual.

I really don't know, what's the reason, Night457. I hope you can get rid ot your extension soon.

Today Chrome decided to translate one German and three Russian sites without any issues. I have not done anything unusual since my I finished the unsuccessful "fixes" yesterday, not even a computer restart. The version looks like the same version from yesterday (which is now 2 days old). I do not know WTF was going on!

I am afraid to get rid of the extension in case I need it again. I'll just disable it so it is still installed.

For blizzardkid at least GT didn't translate nothing
"Translated" page was the same as original - in that case in Russian
And very same thing if tried vice versa... translate flm page to Russian - so called translated page was still in English
Browser was Firefox without add-ons

Aha! I don't really wish troubles on anyone else, but I am glad I was not the only one.
