Agreed! Sadly, there was never a DVD or bluray and no decent HDTV rip exists. There's always an outside shot at an eventual 1080p streaming version, but this movie is obscure enough that we can't count on that.

It's an analog TV-broadcast recorded on VHS. The picture quality is just too bad.
Definitely an over-the-air TV broadcast. You can actually see in a couple of places where someone was playing with the knob on their rabbit ears to get better reception. But recorded using a capture card rather than videotape - you'll notice there's none of the fuzz or distortion common to VHS rips.
Some AI processing was done to reduce the prominence of the interference lines and there's a noticeable plasticface effect from that. I'd love to see the original unprocessed recording. The lines would be a more pronounced but I think I'd prefer that to the AI effects. You really do need a high quality source for tools like Topaz to improve the video, otherwise they degrade it.
