The fact that I don't approve or find it difficult your lists of actresses, is more than obvious...
Well, that was my problem with your original post; it wasn't that obvious: Because you "..find it difficult with these actresses.." somehow I should understand that to mean 'I [you] don't approve'? I'm kind of more confused than ever. :? What I'm trying to say is that MY point was you didn't take any time to support your statement; you just threw it out there to flounder on it's own, which is why I reacted like I did. You made a negative statement and offered no reasoning behind it. Approve of what? 'What' did you find difficult?
I'll put it in a nutshell.
In my opinion I don't see any actress emulating that iconic role of Zsuzsa Czinkóczi, maybe I'm not right and Kev is right, that's what I mean.

In Plenilunio, I see it as having the makings of a series, it's like the same plot of True Detective, something like the cop is discovering bodies every chapter and the killer is more mysterious, anyway, the actresses are just morgue figures, for a movie I just hope they don't end up making it with adult actresses in teenage roles.
Back to the purpose of the thread; you bring up some interesting titles:

*Tideland
*Plenilunio
*Taxi Driver
*Cider With Rosie
I'd rather keep Tideland and Plenilunio, Taxi Driver I only used it because in that decade there were many controversial movies that are not worth mentioning, a remake of them is worse than Total Recall or Robocop.

It's like asking today's filmmakers if they are interested in remaking aforementioned titles.

The Secret Garden as tv series if they correct strangeness that was made in 1975 when Colin was well too fast and in 2020 where there was too much all sort of special effects

Cider with Rosee... they made it in 2015 and it was the worst of three

Btw. My list is
Taxidriver with a similarly aged actress, but WITHOUT the body double... Both these are never gonna happen. Unless life-like robots and/or CGI.

Tideland... Jodelle really knocked that role out of the park, did such a good job then.

The weirdest remake was True Grit (2010) () where the role of the 14 year old character Mattie was orginally played by a 19 year old, but now it went to a actress who was 13 year old IRL, who, it's true still LOOKED like 17, but still...

The Babadook remake in which the protagonist would be a girl instead of a boy. Emily Mitchell would be a good choice for the role.

I'm only interested in the bathscene lasting more than 30s and I know how it was originally going to be in 1993, otherwise paint it all CGI.

I really pictured Jodelle Ferland doing the scenes that didn't make it into the book. I really wouldn't find an actress of the stature of Miranda Cosgrove or Dafne Keen, any suggestions? not blonde or older than 12y.

HUGE edit - Your Daddy's rich, and your Momma's good-lookin'.

...

I would like to see a remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, with a cast entirely of children filling in the roles from the original script. I'd prefer if they acted poorly, even reading directly from the script while filming and struggling with some of the bigger words.

Everything else has to be exac-tacally the same, down to wardrobe, sets, cinematography. Just the same movie, but with children ranging from 6 to 10.

I'd also like to see an Oz or Wonderland movie that doesn't suck shit.

I don't know what it is with film-makers thinking Oz and Wonderland were written in the fucking 60s, and that Carroll and Baum were dosed to the eyeballs on shrooms and LSD. Every fucking remake I've seen was based very much on 60s counter-culture, Dorothy or Alice were a teenage bimbo who wanted to run away from home and live with her boyfriend as she worked at the titty-bar down the street. Fuck that Pink-Floyd shit (no disrespect). I'd just like to see one good Oz or Wonderland that hits home and isn't influenced by the several generations that snow-balled bullshit surrounding it. Either make it a period piece based on the source-material, or make some retarded porno of it. Judy Garland as the next 50 year old female Peter Pan, co-starring Ben Aflek and Johnny-overrated-Depp in a film by Shit Burton. Oscar winnings

There was a reason Dorothy Gale and Alice were eight in those stories, and every time they rewrite this shit for new generations something is lost in translation. Something timeless that should not have been cut.

I'd trust the original eight-year-old tough-as-nails Dorothy Gale from the Frank Baum stories to do the shingles on my roof. The 1939 Judy Garland Dawson's Creek casting version? No. She'd die. And I'd like it very much if she did.
