Thank you Caleyunior, this immediately looked like a story I would enjoy and characters I would like! And it has a manageable number of episodes to watch, quite a bit less than 900.

I did some searching to learn more about it, and I found that it is a remake of the Japanese series
[REL] Ashita, Mama ga Inai (2014), which was also remade as the Thai series [REL] Abandoned (2019)

Well, I guess I know what I like!
