Does the fearnopeer torrent work for those without registered accounts?
I was curious about that too. It worked for me getting the .torrent from FLM even though I have not logged in to FNP in a number of months because of my overloaded and dead quota ratio. What possible tech magic could be involved in restricting a torrent to "members only" except by restricting access to the .torrent file or MAGNET hash? If there is some sort of Trojan Cookie involved then it ought to prevent me from downloading the actual file. If the .torrent has spyware attached then maybe it reported back my torrent client to the FNP site and they will cancel my account. But I think my tech paranoia is naive and overly complex.
I'm having an issue with the FnP torrent - it downloaded quickly but upload is sporadic and single digit slow... Anyone else encounter this problem? Any suggestions?
My problem as a member was similar in that a few hours after a torrent was posted, I was the last one in line to get it and had no one to share it with. Supposedly simply keeping the file AVAILABLE to be shared whether or not anyone takes it from you will benefit your ratio, but I no longer have the ability to test that theory. I know from experience with
your eMule files that your upload speeds are fast and strong, at least with eMule. Do you have fast upload speeds with TORRENTS that are NOT private? I wonder if there is some non-default setting in the torrent client Preferences that is necessary to allow good upload speeds.
Successful FNP members should be able to give better advice. (Yes, I admit I am an FNP failure.
