from imdb:
I checked, double-checked, and triple checked. This film does not seem to have ever been posted here. RFF doesn't have a listing for it either. Perhaps it is because at first glance, if you take the year for this movie (1987) and subtract Julie Delpy's birth year (1969) you get 18. However a simple deeper investigation reveals that she was cast for this movie at 16, and filming began soon after. Her birthday is December 21, so she must have been no older than 17 during filming. In any case, she plays and looks the part of a young girl.Somewhere in France during the Middle Ages. Beatrice (Julie Delpy) is impatient to see her father (Bernard-Pierre Donnadieu) return from English captivity. She doesn't expect however that the father whom she loves from distance will be the most hateful person who will submit her and her family to abuse and humiliation.
This movie is one of my all time favorites. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend you get this movie.
