...you might get a better reaction if you could modify the way you are asking.
Yes, that's what I meant also when I replied. The answer to the question "no mega links" could simply be "no".
You have been great on sharing many things from your collection
When I got it right, they are just copied/pasted links from other websites. Not his own uploads.

Asking that question in that manner blatantly implies this, no question. So, it can be interpreted as rude or expected for the people who share to provide these links, and that's not the case.
Yes, it's just a question. Because yes, there are eMule links but I also see a lot of Mega links sometimes inactive. You just have to answer "no", I'm not asking that Mega links be created just for me :) .

Or someone can not answer at all if there are not any available links, and share links only if there are. I have to assume that you make the effort first to read through the thread to see if any (live) direct download links are already posted. I create and share direct download links for SOME films that motivate me to do so, but not for films I despise or when I just don't have the energy. Still, I agree with pillowbaker that the question sounds a little blunt and maybe could have been phrased a little better. I also agree with ghost that the best course is to make the effort to try and use eMule, because it opens up whole worlds of movies.

It's really a cultural difference, because it was really an innocent request... just to be informed.

I understand. You would laugh if I attempted to write in French, and I would probably sound very coarse. My own Internet sensitivities have been a little sandblasted and what annoys others sometimes amuse me. Still, I do try to avoid antagonizing people when it is not my goal.

I remember that the correct translation of a standard Star Trek Klingon greeting is not "Hello" but "What do you want?" Definitely some cultural differences there.

Not many people will pull out a weapon and fight you to the death for offending them though. Klingons, always so touchy! :cool

This is one of those titles I occasionally look around for a web-dl of (so far without luck). It's such a waste to film something and let it just fall out of circulation, never air or stream it again. Laura Martel is at her most appealing in this movie. I'd love to have it in 1080p (maybe even 4K?). L' Enfant d'eau is another example. Only a single broadcast, in that case recorded on VHS, and no streaming version to be found. As far as I can tell no recent airings of either program.

If so, it doesn't cost anything to ask :) ...

Hey DaveTheBoss, please read this.

I'd say, if you want to request non-emule links to specific movies, you might get a better reaction if you could modify the way you are asking. First, it is important to note that this forum's standard is emule. So, when you ask "no mega links?", this implies in English something along the lines of "why aren't there any mega links?", as if it is standard to have direct links along with the emule links. Asking that question in that manner blatantly implies this, no question. So, it can be interpreted as rude or expected for the people who share to provide these links, and that's not the case.

You have been great on sharing many things from your collection, as well as upgrading and bumping interesting movies, so a few members here have been inclined to humor you with creating mega links. I would say, if you would like to request direct links for a film shared here, instead of asking in a manner that assumes that direct links are the established method, how about you ask like this: "Would someone be willing to upload these to a filesharing host/torrent? I have difficulties with using emule in my area." Or something like that.

You wouldn't be the only one who has difficulties with emule here.

To anyone else reading, I will say that I understand that member-moderation is not appreciated on any forum, so if I am overstepping my bounds, please let me know and I will readily redact this message. ;)
Hey don’t sell yourself too short pillowbaker. I share your sentiments

Personally after a while I just accepted that there were way too many films that I was interested in for making megaNZ requests ..that I „had to“ get into emule myself.

Also want to say, people can use emule+vpn in p2p unfriendly countries like Germany just fine. For downloading forwarded ports isn’t a must have

It's more of a problem when you want to upload. People can't retrieve anything from you except at a snail's pace. You can still download at high speed though.

If you have the Russian dubbed version you can always select the second audio track (original French) or remux the file without the Russian audio. No need to download it again.
