Hi all

I’m moving from a house share to my own home very soon.

I am currently on a 10MB broadband service.

Due to the cost of the move, and higher outgoings, I am forced to go down to 2MB's.

My concern is that I will have useless up & download speeds, and surfing will also be badly affected.

It might be that I just have to get used to the change, and that 2MB's is still rather good.

Maybe lots of members here are using 2MB or less still.
In which case, please let me know how you cope with it.

If you have the 2MBits to yourself, depending oncontention ratio you should be fine.

I don't know exactly what a 2MB connection refers to over there. That works out to over 200K bytes/sec, but is it 200Kbytes/sec both upload and download each or is it split?

I figured that if dial-up is 56k, 2MB is 2000K, in which case im currently on 10000K.

Im not too concerened about upload; Even with 10MB, I only upload about 20 KB/s on eMule... while the rest (which is about 70KB/s) is reserved for WinMX... That way I can trade highspeed on WinMX, and then get em onto eMule.

Download is warp speed, its almost obscene lol.

If I can still upload above 10 to 15 KB/s on eMule, then ill be happy.

i changed from 8mg to 20mg with virgin media but no change in speed on p2p
