Così come sei AKA Stay as You Are (1978) [Italy]

Movies that don't quite meet the requirements to be on-topic for FLM, maybe because the actors are too old or screen time is too small.

Così come sei AKA Stay as You Are (1978)
DaveTheBoss wrote: Wed Jun 05, 2024 10:31 pmI'm missing 2 films but the actresses (or their roles) are 17 years old. I know it's too old here so I don't think I should create a topic for these movies.

The first film was Così come sei (1978) with the bewitching Nastassja Kinski who plays a woman over 20 years old (although she was 17 when the film was released ! So maybe she was 16 during the shoot ?!
Yeah, probably too old for FLM but we can take care of it in a few posts here.
So, here I am looking for this film in HD (the blu ray exists) in original and French version and with French subtitles.
I easily found it in Italian, English, Spanish, Russian and "Dual" (unidentified) but nothing specifically named as French. The French title "La fille" is no help because it is too generic. French subtitles are easily found at opensubtitles but are you SURE it was dubbed into French in the first place or is this wishful thinking? I found the movie at the French private torrent site yggtorrent, which should have a French dub if it was available. My account downloading is deactivated there because I am a little bit over my limit and they want to extort money, but I can search the site. I found "Cosi Come Sei / Stay as You Are / La Fille" there with Italian or English audio and subtitles in French or English. I suspect that a French dub might not exist.

I will report back on what Italian / English torrents complete.

I know that in France, it happens that the dubbing of a film is the property of a private company and some publishers are reluctant to pay additional rights to add the French track on dvds/blurays (especially for non-French editions). Regarding "Cosi Come Sei", I don't remember seeing it in French but it would be surprising if a French dubbing didn't exist given the links between Marcello Mastroianni and France where the Italian played in many films (and even blistered Deneuve 8-) ).

Your dubbing explanation makes sense. However, I looked at Amazon.fr and did not find any disc releases with a French dub. Without that, you are not going to get a rip with a dub unless it is from a TV broadcast... or you set up a Cam in a theater showing an old French-dubbed film print!

I am still working on some of the Italian & English versions and what looks best for a dual-language version, muxing in audio if necessary. I have given up on the French audio. French subtitles will have to do.

As for the other film "I dolci inganni (1960)":
IMDB says "Catherine Spaak was only 15 at the time of filming" and was playing "a 17-year old school girl". This makes it unusual for FLM with the young actress playing a slightly older character, rather than the other way around.

[EDIT: see this post here for the film: https://www.first-loves.com/forums/view ... 66#p114166 ]

This is the case for these 2 films, Nastassja Kinski also plays an older girl when she is 17 years old and has many nude scenes (Marcello bites her buttock by the way  !). Jodie Foster in Carny also played an older role I think. It's true that it's rare in this sense...

Così come sei (1978) with a likely too-old-for-FLM Nastassja Kinski:

I found several torrents with Italian and/or English audio and they all seemed to be ripped from the German Blu-Ray. Strangely I did not find the German dub in 1080p framerate. I did find Russian voiceovers but I did not find French audio.

My version specs: [Code] MEGA RARs extract to the video AND an external French subtitle: [Code] This will likely exceed the MEGA quota and will require switching to another IP address to continue downloading the remaining parts.

English & French subtitles that should sync to other versions that are 1h 44m 37s:
Così come sei (1978).1h44m37s.EN+FR-SRTs.zip
|
There is another French translation that has over 400 additional subtitle lines, but when synced as best I can it makes for quite a bit of text on the screen when NO ONE IS TALKING. If a French speaker wants to decipher this one, feel free:

Some 1080p torrents that seeded completely --
15Gb Remux, Russian dubs in AC3 or Italian FLAC audio, optional English subtitle not synced:

9.83Gb Rip, Italian or English FLAC audio, optional English subtitle synced:

7.75Gb Rip, Russian or Italian AC3 audio, optional English subtitle not synced:

2.57Gb Rip, Italian or English AAC audio, optional English SSA subtitles synced:

I can't wait to see that, thank you very much :) ! To finish with the off-topic, do you have a torrent of Schindler's List ? I'm looking for this film with a German dubbing (and French subtitles if possible). I don't think the scene of the little girl in red deserves to create a topic...

Sorry I do not have that and will not search for it or watch it because I have been boycotting Steven Spielberg ever since his stupid 1993 dinosaur movie. (Yes, I have my eccentricities.) A quick search shows that a German dub BluRay does exist so maybe someone else here can help you with a torrent. French subtitles are at opensubtitles.org:

You wouldn't have said that if Spielberg had asked Casimir to play in Jurassic Park  !

Well, then, I don't dare to imagine what you think of the last ones, because I boycott them  .

Should I create a Schindler's List topic ? Because I don't see how this torrent request can be seen by people who are likely to meet my wish... :?

I assume you have seen Schindler's List once, so if you think there is enough child content to make it worth an FLM Release, go ahead and post it as a Request. Feel free to mention in your post that you are interested in the German dub and a direct-download link, but UNDERSTAND that it is primarily an ENGLISH language movie and that the goal of FLM members should be an ed2k link to make it a RELEASE, so the priority would be the original language. Of course dubs are fine too if they are available. If you are lucky you will be pointed to a torrent. Of course the BEST-CASE scenario is that you make the minimal effort necessary to install eMule and enjoy everything FLM has to offer. Hint hint, nudge nudge.

If you honestly do NOT think it qualifies as an FLM Release, then just accept the fact that FLM is NOT a general movie site for finding any kind of movie. It is for very specific kinds of movies: those where children 16 or younger have a major role in the plot.

Are you going to render to Caesar what belongs to Caesar again  ?
