[Original Korean title: Ajeossi]

For An Angel, you are amazing!!!!

I was all set to post a 1080p upgrade of this FANTASTIC sentimental action film when I discovered your custom-made subtitles here. They are a revelation! For years I have been watching this (at least a dozen times now) on disc and cringed at subtitles that I knew were sometimes dumbed down or just plain wrong. After torrenting a Blu-rip I went through the standard American subtitles, correcting transcription errors and a couple lines where I could tidy up the translation. When I read through YOUR subtitles my jaw dropped. They are SO much better! Dialog is so much clearer, more natural and intelligent. This is obvious even to someone who does not know Korean. I am all set to watch this again tomorrow, this time with your subtitles. I think I can now retire my Blu-ray, which is worn so thin I can see through it. THANK YOU!

I am not going to pretend this is some sort of rare release that is hard to find on emule, torrent or direct download. But it has been long enough since For An Angel first posted it and FLM does not have nearly enough action films, so it needs to be promoted. The ones with little girls are always my favorites. Sae-ron tears my heart out and drowns it in tears *every* *single* *time*.

1080p Korean 5.1. Optional official American subtitles with a few minor corrections.
Also, For An Angel's retranslated subtitles synced to this video. I highly recommend this version of the subs.

This movie was linked to on a another post, and I followed it here. I don't recall the post at the moment, but I am interested in this movie. It looks good, and although I am unsure whether I've come across it here before, I never ended up grabbing it. May I request a reshare for the encode in Night's post above? Thank you for your time.

Here's my rip. The specs, while being exactly what works for me, will probably seem appalling to most people. So you should probably just ignore this post.

"Appalling"? Hardly. But I am confused: I thought HDR was only for 4kUHD? How well does it work with 1080p? I am curious enough to download even though I no longer have a TV with HDR, so it will probably look wrong to me. I had noticed there was a 4k edition of the movie on disc.

All UHD blu-ray players must support HDR per the standards. Non-UHD players are not required to support it. Neither are they required to support the Matroska format, of course, and since we're dealing with a Matroska video (mkv) file, the question is moot. Use a Raspberry pi 4 (or later) and LibreELEC, and it will play just about everything perfectly, to the tune of less than $100.

I ripped from the UHD blu-ray, keeping HDR but downsizing to 2K.

My 4k player plays MKVs (and my multi-region standard blu-ray player too, but that one not HDR or even H265 I think) so I don't need a pi! But I do not have a TV that supports HDR, so whatever I show it on will not show the HDR. But I really was not asking about ME and my equipment, just the HDR. I guess it makes sense that you got the HDR layer from a UHD because I thought HDR was only used with the UHD format. Hence my confusion that your rip was only 1080p. I am currently downloading one of your other releases from you but MFN is at least in the queue. I am going to guess that maybe you saw the movie before the 4k was released, right? Since I can not test the HDR myself, I am curious what difference the HDR layer makes when it is with just a 1080p version. Not that I seriously expect anyone to be able to verbalize what they see, but were you able to see a difference? Or did you just include the HDR in the encode because it was there?

Just your screenshot looks brighter than the movie I remember!

It took me 1.5seconds to go almost exactly to that spot in my rip with ONE TRY. I really know this movie!

And indeed my old rip is a little darker. Hmmm. I don't think my 1080p computer monitor supports HDR, but maybe I answered my own question anyway.

Nota-bene really downlplayed his rip, but his rips are consistently high quality and I am definitely intrigued by this one -- even though I have seen the movie two dozen times already. Anyone who can play H265 and HDR should surely check it out.

I still need to look up what HDR even is. :P

I've appreciated much nota-bene's rips so far. It would be appalling for me to ignore any of them! So thank you for sharing, nota-bene!

Someone also kindly finished sourcing Night's release, so I have that one as well!

All those acronyms of tech standards, I don't blame you.

Night kindly finished sourcing Night's release, or at least some of it. I was no longer sharing it until after you posted.

My next step is to download the 50Gb+ UHD Remux and then share it on eMule, right?

Well, if you end up doing that, let me know. I'll nab it and do my best to help source it for you.

Oh and please tell Night thanks for me.
