I took a look again at the 1080p file I posted some days ago and it looks only like a normal upscale from SD.

So I used deadman's DVD as source and made an AI-upscale to 1080p. Its not perfect due the poor quality of the DVD, but I*m pretty pleased.
I corrected also the very pale colors.

The DVD actually isn't too bad. Middle of the road, nothing spectacular, but not bad either. Your version is definitely an improvement though. A little more detail in the image and much better contrast - the washed out look is gone. Thanks Ghost!

Already in 1977, Ernst Johansen was convicted of sexual abuse of minors as a teacher at Borup Children's and Youth Theatre. But so far it has been assumed that his forays into the film business only started with Children of Warriors (1979), which was his third and last.

Now, however, Ekko can reveal that Ernst Johansen already molested minors during the filming of the debut film Let's Be, which he shot in 1974 in Lemvig, North Jutland, together with co-director Lasse Nielsen.

Yeah, I read about Ernst Johansen on ekkofilm.dk the other day and left a comment in the thread for Krigernes Børn.

Lasse Nielsen was into boys. He even spoke of plying them with alcohol and weed. For La' os være he said something to Johansen along the lines of, I'll work with the boys and you can take care of the girls. Despite his insistence otherwise it's hard to believe he didn't know what was going on with his co-director and friend. There was less consciousness about exploitative behavior in the industry back in the 70's. It's hard to imagine parents trusting movie directors alone with their minor children for hours at a time in this day and age.

But this I think is often the reason why certain films don't get updated releases. Anyone who might want to put it out has to contend with controversies attached to the film - even if it's a good movie worthy of a bluray release, what studio wants to associate themselves with a sexual abuse scandal or (in the case of Krigernes Børn) a young actor committing suicide due to the abuse? I doubt we'll see the French film Les Diables on bluray either for this exact same reason.

Here's the full DVD of this excellent film. Think of it as Lord of the Flies with girls as well as boys. Featuring Hanne Olsen and Tine Jensen, both 14.
