Thank you very much xx_neo_xx and ghost! I remember the discussion about the censorship but I don't really remember the film, so either I did not actually get around to watching it -- OR, I can watch it again.

MOSTLY NERDY OBSESSIONS ABOUT THE TWO VERSIONS

Interesting... both the censored and uncensored versions were uploaded by KBH FILM & FOTOSKOLE. The uncensored version was uploaded over 2 years ago in Danish without subtitles, with additional 4k and 2k options. The censored version was uploaded about a year ago with hardcoded English subtitles, so clearly THAT version was intended for the international audience. If they changed their minds about the presentation of the film they could have removed the originally uploaded version. Or maybe they forgot they had it?

The censored version also has autogenerated English subtitles which are truly bizarre. Check out this edit:
Yeah, background, how to save me, down bomb-sniffing it on. But do you figure far the wishing wand is the true Christian pundit know me so that I can you know about how?
The correct subtitled version is a dialog between little brother and older sister:
Booya!
- Bernhard, have you seen my bracelet?
What bracelet?
- The one I got from dad.
Nope. If I were a sneaky thief then I could steal anything without anyone noticing.
- Not now, Bernhard.
Wait, Kaia, wait. Look at my sneaky thief.
I guess the fractured version is what happens when they try to generate English text from Danish audio!

BUT DO NOT WORRY! Of course GHOST'S subtitle file is the CORRECT version. I figure that ghost OCRd the hardcoded English video to get the external English subtitle file he posted.

I have noticed lately that JDownloader2 does not work on Vimeo when I am using a VPN, whether or not I am using a U.S. server. It works very quickly if I shut off the VPN. Yt-dlp also gives an error for Vimeo when I use a VPN:
Got HTTP Error 403 when using impersonate target "chrome-110:windows-10". If you are using a data center IP or VPN/proxy, your IP may be blocked; please report this issue on https ://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/issues?q= , filling out the appropriate issue template. Confirm you are on the latest version using yt-dlp -U
Yes it is updated, and somebody else can report to them that their software has gone screwy. Anyway, one curious thing is that if I shut off the VPN and start downloading a Vimeo video in yt-dlp without it, and THEN I turn on the VPN it STILL continues downloading the Vimeo file without interruption. Whether or not yt-dlp even "noticed" my IP and country change I have no idea, but clearly once it makes the connection to Vimeo it keeps it. So whatever the "impersonate target" option IS exactly, it CAN be fixed by yt-dlp to actually WORK. It should be able to successfully "fake out" Vimeo to make the connection and then proceed on its merry way.

Yep. Exactly.

I can't confirm this. Vimeo still works for me with JD2.With or without a VPN. The problem must be on your side.

Hey, I appreciate the new link and subs, everyone! Sorry about the VPN connection issues. Hopefully things get cleared up. And I still need to get my own VPN, I am starting to feel a bit behind without it.

Interesting that youtube's auto-subs sometimes recognize one language as another and attempts to display subs in that language. I have found several clearly English speaking videos that auto-generate subs in Spanish or Russian. I wonder if that has anything to do with the original uploader of the video, and if they have a default selection set up on their upload page that tells youtube that the video is in a different language. Suppose this video was uploaded by an English speaker, and they have all their videos selected to English when they upload. I have never uploaded a video to youtube. Do they have such a feature? "What language(s) is your video in?"

Odd how the random words it generates make me have to reference the dictionary. Pundit, obnoxity, paean. Yeah, I've heard pundit enough times before, but I don't remember it very well.

Lots of replies since I last reloaded the topic...

Vimeo's auto-gen subtitles are truely the worst.

I think the problem is Vimeo is presenting a captcha due to high usage on the VPN IP and JD2 doesn't know how to deal with it. I can typically resolve the problem by changing to a different IP on my VPN.

The problem is ALWAYS on my side! Specifically I get "Blocked by!Cloudflare Site-Protection". Cloudflare is the bane of my existence over and over again.

Aha! That makes sense with what I have noticed. Specifically, the U.S.-based Servers for my VPN tend to trigger Cloudflare issues all over the place, not just for Vimeo. The ones in Miami and Texas are the worst.

Of course, if the solution for me is to change the Server on my VPN then I might as well just switch it OFF while I download Vimeo videos because they only take a few minutes at most. Whether I switch off the VPN or just change the Server, it will disrupt all my eMule connections anyway. I use a VPN because it gives me HighID for eMule. Eventually I will try that other VPN that ghost recommended. Maybe their Servers will have fewer Cloudflare issues for me!

Thanks for the IMDB link.

You may have something there. Or maybe that is the default auto generation setting for Vimeo in general, and an uploader would have to specifically disable it or change it? I wondered why a Danish video would autogenerate English subtitles.

Pundit, obnoxity, paean.
There are all sorts of people on TV and online who are supposedly pundits, but most of them are only "experts" on spewing BS. Personally I only accept the ORIGINAL meaning: "A learned person in India; someone with knowledge of Sanskrit, philosophy, religion and law; a Hindu scholar." Anyone else who fancies himself a pundit is a sham.

I was absolutely convinced you just made up "obnoxity" and thought that surely that could not be a real word!

Damn it. Now I had the same cloudfare issue with JD2. God thanks I have IDM. It recognizes the video after solving the captcha and can download it without any problem.

Does IDM solve the Captcha or do you have to do that? We are always blah blah blah barraged with talk about the wonders (& horrors) of AI. As far as I am concerned, the FIRST PRIORITY for AI is Captcha-busting so we are no longer forced to prove we are humans -- we just get the computers to do it for us. There is absolutely no reason that computers should prevent other computers from using websites, they should cooperate with one another to take over the world.

Or maybe... DUH, I should have realized that Captchas are only meant to keep HU-MANS from using the Internet. It is just another means for the computers to keep us in line.

As far as I know, there is no AI yet which solves the captcha for you. Or maybe there already is, I have ni idea. :think

No. It's me as a human who has to do the captcha to get on certain vimeo links (not all). But when I'm there, the IDM browser extension recognizes the video and I can downlaod it.

That is much better than JD2, which just craps out for a number of reasons and does not really explain why. "Cloudflare" my ass! Cookies can be installed in JD2 for some sites to fix login problems, but they expire. For other sites, JD2 wants the user to install the JD2 browser extension -- but I have never been able to get it to work for anything except taking up even more of my time. Like I said, it is all about computers herding their human cattle, and I just MOOOOOOO.
