Re: [REL] Ikke Naken (2004)
My first upscale in 720p looked pretty bad.
I made a new version in 1080p. AI has developed a lot in 3 years.

Re: [REL] Ikke Naken (2004)
Thanks ghost. However, is it me or are the subtitles not synchronized?
Re: [REL] Ikke Naken (2004)
Eh, they're only off by 13 seconds.
It looks like ghost forgot that he cut off the Svensk Filmindustri animated logo at the beginning for the older 720p version, assuming the same DVD source for both. The English subtitles are recycled from that version but the animated logo in the 1080p version makes the timing definitely off.
English subtitles for the 1080p version, sync corrected to the Norwegian audio: Thank you ghost! This is a terrific movie and well worth revisiting!

I'm sorry. I didn't check the subs again. I seems I used a different DVD 3 years ago.DreamScape wrote: Fri Aug 16, 2024 4:40 am Thanks ghost. However, is it me or are the subtitles not synchronized?
Thanks Night457 for fixing!
I updated the link.

Thank you very much ghost for making the 1080p version. The difference is quite big.
Does anyone have the Norwegian DVD? I'd love to see the special features. And apparently, it's the only DVD with 5.1 Norwegian audio.

I've never seen that version of the disc. It's permanently out of stock on Amazon, only sites in Norway seem to be selling it now. Do you happen to know what the special features are?

Looking at the back cover of the Norwegian version, it says:
SPECIAL FEATURES

Royal Cinema Visit

The German DVD version has even more extras:
An interview with director Torun Lian.
Biography

I noticed that the DVD5 available here doesn't have any of this.

The disc I posted is one that I downloaded years ago, so I don't remember exactly where I got it from. The .vob files are of normal size and specs for the PAL format. The menus appear to be custom though, made by someone on their PC with DVD authoring software. The original disc which is out of stock, we don't know when or if ... (why don't they just say discontinued?) on Amazon, has the jacket in your image, and was probably a DVD9. They took the main movie files and authored a new DVD with just the main movie that could fit on a DVD5.
This happened quite a lot in the late 90's and early 2000's when discs were mostly shared on Usenet and a lot of people still had dialup internet so file size was a major concern. People traded those 700 MB .avi rips more often than full discs. Remember those days? It doesn't look like the DVD for this movie is terribly expensive but as of recently it has become almost impossible to get stuff shipped to the United States from small companies in Europe. Carriers like DHL, UPS, etc., will do it, with added fees to cover the dumbass tariffs, but many specialty retailers refuse to ship to my country regardless. Shipping addresses in the USA are not accepted.
