This looked familiar. Not sure where I found it before.

The encode that jezevex found is higher quality, but the audio seems slightly off, though that is likely easily adjustable by many here. I have an encode 720 x 576 where the audio seems to be more synced. Sometimes, it's hard to tell with this one. I also have Russian subs!

supta dapa.srt

If anyone's interested, I am uploading the other encode to mega (859mb).

Thanks both!

Pillow, what is the source of the subs? There are lots of empty lines.

I honestly don't remember. Apparently I found it on February 5th of this year. I stuck in my folder of items for potential subtitle translation work. I saw those empty lines. Odd, but most dialogue moments seem to be covered.

Edit:

And here's the file.

Ah well, since you did not remember I was curious enough to search at the obvious places for Soviet films and subtitles. What looks like the video and also some subtitles are at blizzardkid. Also, it was posted February 5 this year. Must be what you found!

There are comments about it being a good translation but missing some punctuation; no comments about the blank lines.

Hey mister, that's astute! Mystery solved. 8-)

So far, the written Russian I've run through google has translated quite well. I will watch this one with some machine translated subs and see if it's worth tinkering with my deepL and AI translating comparisons.

The Russian subtitle blank lines seem to be all where sound effects would be rather than dialog. It is as if software identified all the areas where prominent sound was, and someone used that timing to fill in the dialog. Some of the blanks could reasonably be used for SDH information.

On the topic of subtitle translation pillowbaker, can DeepL be used to translate an entire SRT file all at once WITHOUT having to give a credit card number? Deadman is interested if so. Please see this thread here and see if you can give advice:
