SHIRLEY TEMPLE is 12 in this musical. It re-uses footage from some of her earlier films in a montage to show her character growing up on stage.A show business family leaves the Great White Way and heads to a farm in New England. What results are the difficulties they have before they are accepted by the community.

In picture #4, I show Shirley wryly commenting on her parents' plans, "Don't you think I'm a little young to be considering getting married?" Funnily enough, pictures 5, 6, and 8 show
Shirley Mills in a small role. She is most famous here at FLM for her lead role in Child Bride (1938). As one of the town girls in "Young People" she is still emotionally childish but much more sophisticated in speech and dress.
