Plot summary: Literary adaptation: an artist returns to the stifling atmosphere of the small Dutch village where he grew up, a place marked by morbidity, suppression of emotion, Calvinist hypocrisy and a suffocating patriarchy.

The resources come from PTP, not my own DVD suppression. Please enjoy watching! :heart

SRT file would be better. ".sub" need to be manually digitised by everyone to play alongside an mkv

.sub and .idx are the original subtitles from the DVD. You can simply use SubtitleEdit and OCR them to a srt file.

Yes, but .SRT shares and nothing has to be done - also smaller files.

So you want others to do the work for you? ;)
You should be lucky that there are subs at all.

VLC and MPC player can use sub/idx subtitles directly. If they don't sync with the video it does become more complicated. However, in VLC you could add static delay to the subtitles.

Thank you Kissonline for the movie and the subs!

I do not know quite what to expect from this one, but I will give it a go. I am also one of those who prefer to use SRTs, just because. (And it makes perfect sense to me that someone who wants something in a particular variety can be a someone who makes it.) The OCR in SubtitleEdit was very clean and did not take long. I happily share my results to avoid reduplication of effort:
Terug naar Oegstgeest (1987).en.srt

Thank you for your hard work, Citronleaf! This is indeed a relatively rare children's movie, and I am also very happy to bring joy to everyone with the movie I am sharing. This is the original intention of my sharing. :thumbsup
