I think the search index here actually takes a little while to update. I remember seeing the post and looking for the previous one but it didn't appear in search.

Indeed the search index is updated every 60 minutes.
I've seen users swear after duplicate threads that they did search and did not find the thread (which was older than 60 minutes), but I've never been able to reproduce that...

I do know that even a small misspelling in one word can (sometimes) break the search and move the desired result to the bottom, which is why I always copy-paste.

From what I've seen the little time I've been here, Devil❧ has a been a quality contributing member for years. It Is very possible it was overlooked during a search. I've even done it myself, and to a release that had been posted by Devil❧ 4 years before I ever thought of it.
It's all good.

Do what you want I don't care, but learn that when you find a movie you have to make sure it's not on this forum, that's all. CIAO!!!Devil❧ wrote: Mon Jul 22, 2024 6:04 pm Why so serious? You need to chill the fuck up![]()

My only additional suggestion is to NOT take conflicts to Private Messages, but instead say nothing at all in all places without anyone having to monitor you. If you are mad about something, play a video game or work out with a punching bag.Phuzzy4242 wrote: Mon Dec 12, 2011 8:32 pm
- Courtesy counts. The only way people have to judge your character is how you behave in the forums - if you can't say something nice, say nothing at all. Take any conflicts with other members to Private Messages. Well, I am temporarily unlocking it to post MY thoughts after having watched this hauntingly beautiful film.
(It truly is sad when little irrelevant, petty differences become the main focus and sully the thread of an otherwise beautiful film.)**
This film reminds me of a story about a little boy from a poor family that lived in the country. My memory of the details are sketchy, but the main gist of the story has stayed with me through the years:
One day the boy's grandfather goes to the city to work for goods to bring back to their home. Over the days and weeks things deteriorate at the house and in desperation the boy writes a letter and mails it to his grandfather in the city. In his innocent ignorance he addresses the letter merely to 'Grandfather'.
Spoiler: |
The children [2 boys and a girl] in THIS film go on an innocent journey towards an adult world [a Nazi Concentration Camp] far more vast and evil than they could ever imagine.
And [no matter how improbable] what an amazingly, wonderful adventure it is!
The scenes of the children playing 'war' together in their provincial town and the scenes of them on their journey to 'rescue' their friend Riccardo [a' la 'Stand By Me'] are uplifting and carefree. Innocent children on a great adventure.

They are being followed by a nun and one of the boy's older brother who have an adventure of their own.

I was just going to watch a couple of minutes to get an idea of the tone of the film and got caught up in it and ended up watching the entire movie.. I LOVE shows like that; that wrap me around their finger and I have to see the whole thing. (The tone was much lighter than I expected it to be, due to the underlying 'Holocaust' theme.)
The child actors [for me] fit their characters, and weren't wooden or over the top. And the things they did [once you accept the improbable premise] were things normal kids would probably do in their situations..
Once you see the movie and witness the last ignorantly heroic scene, the lines of the granddaughter in the epilogue will [hopefully] rip out your heart:

**Though sadly I have contributed to this myself sometimes. MENTAL NOTE: NEVER do it again! Oh, and on that note:
A most definite 'Thanks!' to the OP! This is absolutely a movie that FLM was created to highlight!
Now, back to what you said, Night:

If you haven't seen this movie yet, [and anyone else reading this, for that matter!], check it out. It is well worth a watch: Funny, heartbreaking, uplifting with a satisfying though realistic ending...
