Technically, this is two short films. However, the second short is a direct continuation of the first, and is presented as a combined "supercut" by the original creators (Crypt TV) on their youtube channel. I hope it is ok that I release it here as the combined whole. I feel it is better viewed this way.
I present one of the coolest shorts I've come across for spookytime releases. Really, the story of the first short, along with its fright-night creature, don't bring anything new or totally original, but the short is pretty well created. They obviously put a lot of effort into this one: the actors are mostly pretty good, they made a noticeable effort on the costumes, and went all out on the horror makeup and creature design. To top it off, the series becomes more of a narrative with "The Girl in the Woods" continuation, and almost takes on an apocalyptic feel. Our main girl
Carissa Bazler performs great in both shorts. She is in most scenes, so she gets a generous amount of screen time. She's lovely, especially when she's all covered in gore.plot inkling wrote:What happens when a group of kids of a rural cult town open the door in the woods that's chained up with BEWARE and DO NOT OPEN signs etched into it? What becomes of young Carrie after the resulting catastrophe and how does she learn to live in this new world?
Yeah, it gets a little strange near the end. To keep this brief, I'll post my thoughts and impressions in another post. Give it a try, it's rad as razzmatazz.
