I have never seen such a scary horror, I advise you not to watch it at night, especially if you are alone at home, otherwise it will not let you sleep. Luckily I saw it during the day.

Thanks for this scary short film Ghost, Asians know how to do the Horror genre very well unlike Americans with all due respect.

I think Hollywood gave up on attempting actual scares decades ago. At best they go for comedic horror and at worst they substitute cruelty and grisliness for frightfulness. IMHO and with all due respect.

Yes. I remember the times of Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday 13th... They don't make such masterpieces anymore.

Also the series of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre In its prime it was a masterpiece, but the first one from 1974 will always remain the TOP horror ever.

To be honest, in Italy they don't know how to do the horror genre any better, but Dario Argento is the only one who has managed to make excellent horror films in the past, there's his daughter Asia Argento who is a good actress.

You are both listing excellent horror movies there! TCM was terrifying although the more I watch it the more funny it seems, mostly because of whiny Franklin. TCM 2 was over-the-top gross-out comedy. Evil Dead 1&2 were also fantastic (I have not seen all the later sequels, remakes etc) but it is definitely comedy. I don't think of them as scary. The first Elm St. was I think the most "serious", the later sequels went more for the laughs. Wes Craven was a genius but I never watched the Scream series, which is generally credited with (blamed for) popularizing the "jokey" horror films. Argento in his prime was fantastic as was Mario Bava. The other giallo moviemakers could manage the occasional classic but those 2 were consistent in the genre for some years. If one watches too many gialli then the bandwagon jumpers become obvious.

IMHO is one of the few internet abbreviations that I actually know and remember.
It amuses me because I know that my opinions are often definite and seldom "humble".
