[REQ] Kids Incorporated (TV Series 1984-1993)

Post by mgray »   0 likes

Anyone know any good archives or torrents for old Kids Incorporated episodes? I have been watching some old episodes on
The show revolves around a group of children and teenagers who performed in their own rock group called Kids Incorporated. They struggled to deal with issues ranging from crushes to peer pressure to child abuse, while performing regularly at a local former music club called The P*lace, which was really called The Palace, but the first "a" in the sign burned out and was never replaced. The action took place on abstract "stagey" sets and the plots involved many fantasy elements, such as the group meeting a robot (Season 1, Episode 10), a runaway princess (Season 1, Episode 6) and even a wise-cracking bicycle (Season 1, Episode 17). In addition to their performances on stage, the group would break into song when they were off-stage.

Network Syndicated (1984—1985)
Disney Channel (1986–1994)

Features a very young Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Never watched this show growing up(I was born the same year it started), but I do find it nostalgic, regardless.

Best I've been able to find so far is a playlist that claims to have every episode, but like, degrading VHS quality:

Well, it has the potential to be an FLM topic because it's a children's program. Someone might be interested, the most striking thing is that Fergie was prettier when she was 10 years old.

She was surprisingly adorable! And it was also Jennifer love Hewitts first role(or very close to first, the movie Munchie is listed as her first film when I googled her and she was on this show earlier) great 80s song covers too.

I like this cover* when she sings to a ghost:

Edit: not a cover. original song.

Moved thread to REQuests.

I was a little annoyed that the YouTube link broke up the videos by season, but that most of them were clips and not whole episodes. I don't know many episodes are duplicated, but this is an 18-episode playlist from seasons 4 & 5:

Oh Sorry about that Night457 I had it in my head when I posted that this site was movies only, even though I know that's not the case, just a brain slip.

Sad thing about this show is I really doubt it will ever be rereleased physical or streaming. Obviously, I could be wrong about that, but I would guess the music licensing would be a complete nightmare.

I was advised by a fellow forum member it's on a private tracker called TV Vault so they may be able to grab it for me at some point *fingers crossed*

I wondered, because it looked like all "kids" to me! I have never watched (or even heard of) the show until now, but supposedly there are some bits of storyline in between the songs. Even if it was entirely musical it would still qualify for FLM.

Yep the plot is they are a band of kids that play at the local "malt shop" named P*lace. I had to look up what a malt shop was, I don't think that's as much of a thing these days.

Each episode has a "plot" of sorts. The one I linked above where Fergie sings to a ghost, she is trying to help him get into the "ghost society" by earning 5 points by scaring people(to the theme song of Ghost Busters.) It's pretty deep stuff.

My main interest is the young Fergie and Jennifer love Hewitt, but there is a whole host of people like Mario Lopez(saved by the bell) and I think a young Brittany Murphy appeared at some point.

I'll add the wikipedia synopsis to the first post. It's weird, because I have no memory of this show, but I remember the theme song vividly /shrug. It's possible I was just too young when I saw it.

    If it were a site that only focused on movies, there would be a lot of content that would be left out, like the Dance Moms or Amanda Bynes show. Being in front of a camera is about acting. A while ago, I discovered a girl who was doing modeling, but I didn't know how to bring her to FLM, and I found an ingenious way.

It's very strange given that Disney owns it, there was something similar with Cold Case, it was never released on DVD or Bluray due to the music rights but it is available on platforms like HBO Max that do have the money to pay for the reproduction of the songs, Kids was released on VHS and was also broadcast in Japan until 2001.

 I have seen them in movies. ;) Your grandparents might be old enough to have experienced them, and depending on where they lived maybe even drive-up diners where the waitresses are on rollerskates. (Again, just movies for me.)

The actors / actresses you listed I know from some of what they did when they were older.

I wanted to give an update on this. I am slowly downloading all of the episodes from this playlist:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... OTSJGoyA4K

It is taking forever because all the sites I can find to download youtube videos are super sketchy and usually have a download limit. I am at around episode 60 of 140ish episodes going by the IMDB episode guide. The playlist has 148 episodes, which makes sense as some episodes have been upscaled so there are probably duplicates. I'm not sure if any are also missing, but it's certainly a possibility.

My attention span and patience only allows me to download a few at a time because I have to keep switching websites and closing ads, and figuring out which links are real download links and which are adware.

On top of that, the vast majority of these are degrading vhs of quality. They're all technically watchable, depending on your own personal threshold for watchable, but some are pretty bad.

So I guess I have a few questions.
1. would it even be worth sharing these once they're downloaded? At this point I am mainly just doing it for my own OCD archival purposes. I think the show is an interesting and unique part of history, and since it is probably a licensing nightmare due to the song covers, it will likely never be released on DVD or streaming, so theoretically it is a show that could just completely cease to exist someday.
2. Is there an easier way that I don't know about to download these? this is by far the most annoying part of the process.
3. The copies I see on torrent sites that I sadly don't have access to, if anyone can check, it would be really useful to know at the very least if they are better copies than these youtube versions. I have had one person reach out to tell me it is on a site called TVV so that's the only site I am certain that it's on atm.

edit: correction...it seems like there might be 149 episodes total, if that's accurate then there is at least one missing. the playlist says 4 videos are unavailable. Not sure if that is a country thing or not, I tried with VPN on and off and got the same results.
