Bad news. Someone either took a dvdrip or file that was downloaded from a site like vk.com or mail.ru and upconverted it. It's not an AI upscale - although results from such a LQ source would've looked even worse. They just took a low quality rip and resized it to 1920x1080. The DVD looks much better. Disappointing, I was hoping for a true 1080p web-dl.

Many from dvdrip make HD quality, it will not become better, it can only be worse, of course many people do not like the black frame DVD, but you can expand the screen with the help of VLS player settings
