I have LowID and moderate Internet speeds, and the 6.59 GiB file downloaded in less than 15 minutes. Did you even try it?

I tried downloading a 500mb short film file a few months ago and the estimated time for finish was like 2 weeks

I gave up emule after that.. I ain't waiting 2 weeks for a file (I think it was about a week actually but still)

Download times vary by file because different sources are sharing them. A source with faster Internet upload speeds will make for faster eMule downloads. LowID users can download only from someone who has HighID, it has nothing to do with the speed downloading from any one source but only if they can connect to a source in the first place. There can be 100 LowID people who have it but other LowID emulers will not connect to them. I saw 4 HighID sources for this, and 2 of them were crazy fast. Some eMule files download for me in a matter of minutes or hours; some in days; others longer. I find it much easier now to cancel download links (emule/torrent/direct) if they take too long. I can watch a different movie. Emule and torrent clients are just a tool, and having them installed does not require using them in all circumstances. NOT having them installed limits download options. I try anything that is free.
