The cute guys are in swimsuits too. But I do not understand: that does not look like the correct setting for "DIVING INSTRUCTION".

I think they were being taught scuba diving, but in the early series a lot of it was set in the school and probably couldn't afford the budget for a pool or filming on location, but it was probably an excuse to get Topanga in a swimsuit

It said simply Diving Instruction on the chalk board but there was clearly Scuba equipment there including tanks so you are surely correct that it meant Scuba Diving. I was questioning the logic of students parading through the halls and into the classrooms with their swimsuits and the Scuba gear, instead of having it at the swimming pool where it made sense! What kind of school was this?

But I do not seriously demand that kind of logic from a Disney kids' show, I was just funning. I verified you have the correct episode number and name from low bitrate DailyMotion videos. Thank you!

Unless its normal to have swimming pools at schools in the US and they they were giving them some tuition before going to the pool.

I glanced at the DailyMotion video but am working on a DVDrip torrent, so I do not know the exact plot of this episode yet. It is common to have swimming pools at schools in the U.S. but it is not the case for every school. I would guess some might have off-site swimming classes at public pools during set hours? It all has to do with how much funding the school has and how much land is available for school property: suburban schools would have more land than inner-city ones. Larger schools would be more likely to have their own pool rather than smaller ones. But I do not expect TV show schools to necessarily be representative, and I have never done a survey of elementary / jr. high / high schools.

My high school in the USA had a swimming pool that the high school and middle school kids had to use for free. They put a ton of chlorine in it due to everyone pissing in the pool to be little jerks.
